Publisher's summary

A courageous, life-changing memoir that teaches us to apply the lessons learned by those nearing their death to our own life.

After too many years of unfulfilling work, Bronnie Ware began searching for a job with meaning. Despite having no formal qualifications or experience, she found herself working in palliative care.

During the time she spent tending to the needs of those who were dying, Bronnie's life was transformed. Later, she wrote an Internet blog post about the most common regrets that the people she had cared for had expressed to her. The post, also called 'The Top Five Regrets of the Dying', gained so much momentum that it was viewed by more than three million people worldwide in its first year. At the request of many, Bronnie now shares her personal story.

Bronnie has had a colourful and diverse life. By applying the lessons of those nearing their death to her own life, she developed an understanding that it is possible for everyone, if they make conscious choices, to die with peace of mind. In this heartfelt retelling, Bronnie expresses the significance of these regrets. She explains how we can address these issues positively now, while we still have the time.

The Top Five Regrets of the Dying: A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing gives hope for a better world. Bronnie's delightful memoir is a courageous, life-changing book that will leave you feeling more compassionate and inspired to live the life you are truly here to live.

Life changing

I never have experienced such powerful words and profound inspiration after reading any book. This one is a life changer. I see the light now, and never in even one thousand years could I ever see anything but the true light that shines within me. I'd recommend this book to everyone, although the reader must be ready to fully understand and embrace the opportunity to decide to see your own light and therefore begin living from such a loving place. After all we ARE love.

Different perspective

This book is as much about personal growth and happiness as it is about the regrets of the dying. Wonderfully refreshing and positive. I did not agree with the author’s eastern spiritualism, but I still found things to learn that were helpful to me.

More About Her Life Than the Dying

The book's title is a bit deceptive. It's really about her journey as a caretaker in the persons she ran across. While her sample size is larger than most people would have, it's far from a scientific study. Nonetheless the points are well-made, and it's hard to argue with some of her conclusions.

Fantastic book, awkward natration.

It may be just me but it was a bit unnatural the way in wich an over effort to be breathy and soothing dominated the whole narrtion at times making it monotone. Lack of diction meaning pronpunciation did not seem to be clear it aounded as if ahe was barely opening her mouth to speak. This improved in later chapters. Perhaps its just me because I am over sensitive to sound. What annoyed me the most was the prevalent underlying pleading tone inflection or voice in most of the book. Yes it is a delicate matter but I felt the pleading or almost pity tone was unnecessary to narrating almost the whole book. For the most part i did not notice until chapters changed. And things that had nothing to do with dying ppl were narrated in that tone. Thats when I became aware and annoyed. For some occassions it was highly appropriate. For others, and for most of the book, i felt it detracted from the actual absorbtion of the informatuon trying to make the listener ... feel something in particular through the way it wa narrated. but I feel that too was lost.

Overall though this is a life changing book. I am over sensitive to sound so my cocnern is most likely not relevant to most ppl, but these are my two cents. Overall do not be discouraged most ppl would find it soothing i guess? Please please give this a chance ans allow it to change your life.

Am So Happy to have Listened to this audiobook.

If I don’t listen to another audiobook book in my life, I can say with great happiness to have listened to this one. Bronnie’s life’s lessons are a great testament to understanding life & how to live a better life. It’s a simple but very easy to understand her story & the truth about life to those who have moved on. Now I have to practice these lessons & make sure to not fall into the same trappings as those lessons learned. I wish the book didn’t end, because I could have listened to it forever. This book in my opinion, is a Bible on how to find balance & not end up in regret. Thank you Bronnie & may your life continue to be a blessing to us all & to yourself.
