A must listen/read!

The Journey Home is a real, vulnerable and fascinating account of one man’s life and his journey from business tycoon to his discovery of the artist within. His raw and open storytelling of the depths of his darkest demons to the light that followed his inner work is an inspiration to anyone seeking to find their authentic selves and their truth, This was a true “page turner” and I would recommend it to any adult - whatever path you are on, as it will encourage you to follow your bliss. I was also touched by the interplay of narration and Carl Johns own singing/songwriting which so poignantly spoke to what was happening at each turn of his life. I have to credit him with opening my mind to country music with his thoughtful approach to every tune he wrote. The Journey Home is a journey you’ll want to take.

A Journey you won't regret taking

I just finished listening to Carl John's book The Journey Home, and I found it truly captivating. I loved hearing how the events in his life lead to his realization of what really mattered and what he truly wanted.
I admire his honesty and transparency in sharing his story, his admission of making the mistakes he did makes him easy to relate to, and I learn that there were no mistakes after all, without him having taken all the steps he did he wouldn't have been where he is.
I love the way he uses the language-he has a way with words, his writing is poetic, yet precise.
I also love that he interact the spoken word with his music, he's a soulful singer/singwriter with a beautiful voice, he sings from the heart.
So happy I came upon this "book"-thank you CJ for sharing your story with us.
Can't wait for the sequel!

A story with veins exposed.

What a great book accompanied by great music. The journey of a country singer-songwriter and an in-depth look at a man’s struggle with his inner demons. I wasn’t much of a country music fan but this book gave me a whole new appreciation. Definitely a book with grit and heart that makes you want to be a modern cowboy.

Private Personal Sharing

This inspiring tale of personal growth exemplifies the value of listening to an author read/perform their own work.
By listening to a couple chapters a day, I was given regular doses of individualized storytime, hearing with undeniable clarity the intention behind every word, the emotion in every turn of phrase. That is something of which someone reading a book or listening to a paid actor reading a book can never be assured.
Distinct bonus in this case that the author performs a half dozen of his own songs that correspond to the points of his described journey during which he wrote them. Not only doubly entertaining, but even moreso revealing of his emotional state throughout. Beyond important when the intimate tales being shared reveal the expansive value the author discovers along The Journey Home.

An Inspirational Journey

This book makes me want to become a better person. Carl John opens up his life in a brutally honest way exposing himself at his low points and had me celebrating with him on his successes. The music intertwined throughout adds an enriching ambience to an already entertaining story. Thanks for sharing your journey, Carl John.
