Publisher's summary

A moving story of redemption and second chances.

Jep Robertson, the youngest son of Duck Commander Phil Robertson, and his wife, Jessica, open up about their personal trials, their early years together, and the challenges that might have destroyed them both had the grace of God not intervened. Jep describes being molested as a child and his reluctance to tell anyone until only a few years ago, his downward spiral into drug and alcohol abuse, and the eventual intervention of his family. Jessica shares about the difficult failure of her first marriage while still a teenager and the hurt that came along with it, much of it from the Church. Her insecurities spun out of control, as she wondered whether she would ever be good enough or pretty enough. This book is their love story but, more importantly, their love story for God. "We are desperate to let people know that no matter what you've done, no matter what you've lived through, you can come out of it. You can be washed clean. You are redeemed."

The Robertsons are awesome people. I pray God's richest blessings on them!🙏🏼

The book was awesome and real and full of God's love. I did think I had missed a part when there was no mention of Jep's apology for the pornography. My heart was broken and touched by the heartbreaking things he went through on the bus- God help the girl who did such horrific things to an innocent child. However, I'm not exactly sure what that has to do with the addiction. I only mention that because of my mercy for Jessica AND my desire for others struggling in this area to get help-both the addict and the spouse. The storyline seemed to go directly from Jessica's crushing discovery of the addiction-to the school bus story. I'm sure, no doubt, Jep humbled himself before our Merciful Lord and found victorious deliverance, but, perhaps, for future reference, Jep or Jessica could mention the fact that Jep did take full responsibility for his actions and asked for forgiveness from Jessica.
I pray with all my heart that didn't sound unforgiving or judgmental. That is the LAST thing I would EVER want to portray. I re listened to the entire part to make sure I hadn't missed it and again, just want others that struggle to know at least the basic steps to follow for help. I do realize this is not a book on that subject and hope I didn't cause any offense.
You both are amazing, and I'm so glad The Lord helped me stumble onto this wonderful book!

Must listen!

Thank you Jess and Jep for sharing your story being open and being such an inspiration.
Their story shows how no matter where you are in life you can always come home to Jesus and be healed. And through sticking to your faith your marriage can withstand the worst and come out stronger.
Stories like this gives hope to younger people and other marriage in their hard times.

Relatable

I enjoyed this book and found myself at times listening until the wee hours of the night. I found some of the stories relatable to either myself or to someone I'm close to.

Narration

Loved the story and love the family. The narration wasn’t terrible however I think having the authors read it would have significantly raised the bar!

Wonderful story

I’ve always loved Duck Dynasty and I was always drawn to Jep’s laidback personality. If you are a fan of Duck Dynasty and the Robertson family, especially Jep and Jessica, you will love this book!
