Publisher's summary

World Wrestling Entertainment has named Chris Jericho one of the top 10 wrestlers - and one of the top five talkers - of all time. Certainly, the past six years have been spectacular for Jericho. After a sluggish return from his 2005 sabbatical, Jericho found new inspiration in watching No Country for Old Men. and completely reinvented his character - ultimately going on to capture three world WWE titles.

The Best in the World chronicles some of the incredible and often preposterous highlights of Jericho's recent career, including how Mickey Rourke challenged Jericho to a match then backed out; his escape from the 2010 Icelandic volcanoes in a broken-down, European rental-car shuttle; his encounters with Bob Barker, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Al Sharpton, and Mike Tyson; and his on-again, off-again relationship with WWE chief Vince McMahon.

When people discuss wrestling, one thing that always seems to come up is whether or not it's "real." The WWF (now the WWE) became incredibly popular in the 1980s, and its breakout stars were seemingly everywhere. Whether or not you believe wrestling is staged, there is no denying that it is incredibly physical, challenging entertainment. Pro wrestling draws millions of fans to the stands every year, and the wrestlers themselves are in amazing physical shape, performing wild stunts and risking injury night after night.

The title says it all

As a loyal Jericho fan for over nearly two decades I was captivated from start to finish! If I had to choose one word to describe it, I would have to say "nostalgic". Y2J pulls back the curtain to share what it was like living some of the most amazing highlights of his career, in and out of the ring including his greatest WWE feuds, Dancing With The Stars, Fozzy and his huge surprise return in 2013 that I still remember vividly to this day. From this point forward I'll make sure to add Grey Goose and Ice to my rider for my tours. Yeah boy!

It's not a Six Nineteen

I believe when someone narrates a wrestling autobiography they should know the background of the performer. He kept calling a move the Six Nineteen. It's a Six One Nine. Other horrendous pronunciations as well.

Please learn abbreviations.

It sucks when a great written book, and stories of a professional is ruined by the reader who cannot grasp how to learn what a abbreviation is and instead of saying the abbreviation they actually pronounce what it is. Example PPV stands for pay-per-view another example it’s sad when somebody’s wrestling move is ruined when the reader does not do research. Rey Mysterio‘s move is pronounced 6 1 9 (as in the area code where he’s from) not 619 (six nineteen) .

It’s small things like that they can take a great book I make it a mediocre listening.
