Sharing memories from early childhood through her life as a Carmelite nun, Therese opens her heart to us. This bride of Christ reveals her passion and longing for union with God. Her simplicity is charming and we begin to believe that we can travel the path to salvation that she points out to us.

Surprisingly contemporary

If you could sum up The Autobiography of Saint Therese of Lisieux in three words, what would they be?

Honest Faithful Hopeful

What other book might you compare The Autobiography of Saint Therese of Lisieux to and why?

Psalms as St. Therese states almost every recollection as a thankful prayer to God.

Have you listened to any of Sherry Kennedy Brownrigg’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first time.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All of it was inspiring in particular how I can hear the voice of the young woman come through and easily hear my young daughters and their concerns in the writing.

Any additional comments?

This is a book to read / listen to and put down to come back to over a period of a month as it is inspirational and trying to read it too quickly robs one of the full experience.

She makes me want to draw closer to God

She suffered so much, but counted it all as a blessing!
She was a living saint, but Therese wanted to stay small in her devotional life.
She's my patron saint and now I understand her life much more..
perhaps it's time to pray to be more like her...

The Love of saint therese

This is my tenth reading of this book. It is my favorite book behind the Bible. I loves saint Therese and always try to follow her Little way of spiritual childhood.

Life-changing. So small, and so powerful

This is an autobiography with so many little life lessons that are applicable to people of all walks of life. St. Therese shows us how to use every bit of our day for God’s glory, how to offer up our pains and inconveniences out of love, and to see the beauty of God’s providence even we wish for our own path.

I’m a cradle Catholic who kept putting off this book for years. And, to be honest, it took several months to get through it (little at a time obviously) but that’s worked so well because I listen to her nuggets of wisdom in the car and while washing dishes. She’s been a spiritual companion of sorts! I just finished the book and I’m going to restart it once I finish this review!

Inspirational with lessons for everyone

This book recommended from two people so I read it not knowing what to expect. I was presently surprised.
Written by Saint Therese of Lisieux it starts off sharing the story of her life, growing up devoted to God and follows her short life. It offers a unique look of the actions of a Saint and share her mindset, thoughts and views. While the life she lives is challenging and requires personal sacrifice, it is not impossible and brings a relatable example of someone truly devoted to Christ.
On the surface you think it unlikely to offer guidence for a 'modern world' but the lessons and advice are timeless. Advice on dealing with life's little annoances, from people you don't get alone with, to dealing with people who talk at the theater. Shows how often it is the little things we do that have greatest affect on people and pleases God.
While you probably won't go into it or finish expecting to become a saint yourself it does give guidence and inspiration.

Absolute must read

Of the three great Divine Mercy Saints (Saints John Paul the Great, Saint Faustina, and Therese of Lisieux) it is impossible to consider one read better than the other. However, Saint Therese of Lisieux Autobiography can buoy the most desolate of souls and brings home how our own pride stands in the way of our holiness and fulfillment of God's Will. Beautifully narrated and makes you unable to stop listening.

Excellent!

An excellent spiritual guide! The narrator was perfect. It really opened my eyes to St. Therese's little way. I'm planning on listening again soon.

It reminded me of the peace and love I should hold in my heart, acceptance.
