NKAWTG! Nobody!

As a retired old crew chief of the KC-135, and serving at the exact same time as LTC Hasara. This series of recounts and lessons learned, hit home, and they are so very true. While listening, I can hear in my head the rumble of the steam jets, remember loading them with water, barely getting off the runway at Lajes, and the days sitting on alert. Also the smells of jet fuel, oils and greases and the conversations with aircraft commanders as we walked around on final preflights, and laughing when AC's reach down to check fluids under the main gear, all bounced through my head as Hasara described his flying. There were the hours and hours of flying sitting in the jump seat, laying in the boom pod, and deploying as a team. The best part of this is how good people solved complicated problems to better accomplish the mission. Thank you colonel for painting the picture.

The only issue I had with the book was that the narration was a little mechanical, and I would have wished that Mr. Campbell would have practiced it a little more and also learned how Air Force and military personnel actually pronounced some of the locations and terms in the book. This, along with a little choppiness over the download or edit was slightly annoying.

This book has a fantastic story that not only sheds light on the modern military but on how the good people in it work. I have recommended it to all my friends. I'd love to talk with LTC Hasara and share memories and see where we crossed paths, which I'm sure happened from ETTF and Elf One to later when he was dealing with the TACC. An absolutely great book, and thank you for writing it, sir.

Good book, some military interest required

Good book. It kept me engaged throughout. I have military background as an Air Force "military brat". Your enjoyment of this book may vary depending on how "in to" the Air Force military jargon you are, personally. For me it was a lot of fun. The narrator has a distinctive voice and sound, you may like it, you may not. I did, and I thought his style fit well with the books contents. In summary, I found it an enjoyable listen, and I bought a Hardback edition to give to my father. It might also be a good gift to someone in, or interested in, a military career, especially Air Force.

Great stories!

Loved this. As a USAF veteran I feel connected to this. Greta to hear the other side of logistics and operations.

An interesting inside look

Very interesting book.
Well written, but a lot of the time the narrator sounded like they were choking on something.

Tankers

This book was a good insight into the workings of the huge amount of support that the tankers give to all air operations.

A fantastic book

But the narrator was not easy to listen to. You’d be far better off actually reading the book because so much is lost in translation. The book itself is an interesting insight to how tankers play such a vital roll to AirPower both in war as well as everyday operations

Great Book! Some pronunciation mistakes.

Loved the context and experience conveyed. I wanted to gain an appreciation for in-flight refueling as I enter a career in that world here soon. It was an eye opening listen!
As a military guy, some of the pronunciations of certain terms/acronyms were weird as well as the odd enunciation of things like “K” “C” “135” that would sometimes catch my attention enough to pull me out of the immersion.

I will certainly buy the physical copy!
