Publisher's summary

For the first time, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor speaks directly to his fans and shares his worldview about life as a sinner. And Taylor knows how to sin. As a small-town hero in the early '90s, he threw himself into a fierce-drinking, drug-abusing, hard-loving, live-for-the-moment life. Soon Taylor's music exploded, and he found himself rich, wanted, and on the road.

His new and ever-more-extreme lifestyle had an unexpected effect, however; for the first time, he began to actively think about what it meant to sin and whether sinning could - or should - be recast in a different light. Seven Deadly Sins is Taylor's personal story, but it's also a larger discussion of what it means to be seen as either a "good" person or a "bad" one. Yes, Corey Taylor has broken the law and hurt people, but, if sin is what makes us human, how wrong can it be?

Critic reviews

"Fans of the heavy metal band Slipknot will eagerly devour its lead singer/songwriter Taylor's first book, which displays a prose that perfectly captures the supercharged energy, aggression, and outrageousness of Slipknot's music.... Powerful and moving." ( Publishers Weekly)

Brutal Honesty

Corey Taylor delivers his philosophies, experiences, heartbreaks, and traumas to use them as keys to evolve. The keys open doors to say fuck you to those who use religion to hold you down. Corey Taylor is brutally honest about his life and reality. It can help those who have unfortunately gone through horrendous encounters and encourage those to push onward. Also gotta love his sense of humor. Corey Taylor is a legend 🖤✊🤘

Great book

Love him or hate him, agree or disagree with his views. Corey Taylor will make you gut laugh and more importantly he will make you think. Side note: yes he is the lead singer for Slipknot and Stone Sour, but don't expect much music talk in this or any of his other books.

Entertaining for Corey Taylor Fans

I love Corey Taylor and his music. This book was interesting because it gave some insight into how he thinks. However, I don’t think that people who are not familiar with Corey would get a whole out of this book. I always appreciate when an author narrates their own book and it definitely shines in the performance of this audiobook. Very entertaining without a whole lot of depth.

Corey Taylor just ozzes cool!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you are a fan of Skipknot or Stone Sour - obviously you would love his book and sense of humor. Not only though, did Corey incorprate humor and some real stories of his life - he's so creative and just an amazing writter. I already have the hard cover of this - but ONLY because he actually spoke on this audio, did I get it - so I can hear his awesome voice read his book. I have so many awesome things to say about, I'm a BIG fan of Corey Taylor - and his book just proves how talented and cool, he really is! I hope he writes another book, I so enjoy his writing through music - and books now!

Intriguing for the open minded person.

First off, Corey Taylor narrates the book himself which was awesome, it shows some trustworthiness and integrity when an author narrates his own books.
Although, the majority of this book was very interesting to listen to, there are some dry spots where I had to pause it and come back to it. Most of this book is his personal opinion and a modern telling of the original seven deadly sins into how they apply to modern society and how tradition should be adapted to modern society.
Overall a really good read/listen and personally a proper length for an audiobook.
