Publisher's summary

Roseanne Barr is a force of nature. Whether taking the sitcom world by storm, challenging accepted social norms, or battling the wild pigs inhabiting her nut farm in Hawaii, she is not to be trifled with. In this audibook, Roseanne unleashes her razor-sharp observations on hypocrisy, hubris, and self-perpetuating institutions of questionable value - as well as menopause, pharmaceuticals, and her grandkids. And she's as controversial, original, and funny as ever.

Raised half-Jewish, half-Mormon, and 100-percent misfit, Roseanne made a deal with Satan early on as the price she paid for stardom. But now she's looking to refinance the loan of her soul - this book represents her final exorcism of fame.

Displaying her brilliance and sharp wit, Roseanne discusses the humor of everyday life with musings on more serious topics, such as class warfare, feminism, the cult of celebrity, and Kabbalah. Bold, brash, and insightful, Roseannearchy shows that she can still skewer any subject under the sun and why The New York Times describes her appeal as the power of a whole planet, pulling everything around it inexorably into its orbit.

An Insightful Look into Roseanne's Life

Would you try another book from Roseanne Barr and/or Roseanne Barr?

I would give another one of her books a try in the future. She's very interesting.

What did you like best about this story?

At the beginning of the book, Roseanne speaks of her childhood. It is a really good listen, because she rarely delves into that subject on television or otherwise. Also, the forward, which is read by her first husband, (Bill?) Pentland really gets into her life right before she got famous.

What about Roseanne Barr’s performance did you like?

Everyone associates Roseanne with that loud, screeching voice. However, she's very toned down here and easy to listen to.

Do you think Roseannearchy needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I would listen to another book, but do I think she needs to? No. I think she's said what she needs to say.

Absolutely love

Listened in two sittings. Such a great book by a great author & story teller. Her leftist views are gone now but this captures how she used to think. Before being canceled.

I Love Roseanne! This audio book is awesome!

Would you listen to Roseannearchy again? Why?

yes, I would listen to Roseannearchy again because it is so entertaining, plus Roseanne imparts a lot of life wisdom through out the book. You would get more out of it each time you listen to it.

What did you like best about this story?

I love getting to know Roseaane. She is a complex and beautiful soul. She is a joy to be around as long as you are not her target of frustration.

What about Roseanne Barr’s performance did you like?

I love how the book was narrated by her. Her personality and humor come across easy and no one can tell her story as well as she does.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, I couldn't stop listening to it. I purchased it when I knew I was going to be driving hundreds of miles across country, so I had plenty of time to listen to it. It kept me awake and amused the whole trip.

Any additional comments?

I love Roseaane!

Beautiful.

Here is what I have to say about this book: I came of age in a middle class, small town Wisconsin family in the 90's and Roseanne was the backdrop I remember so vividly coming through the small silver television off of our kitchen. I recently rewatched a lot of the Roseanne episodes and was so stunned to see what an impact she had on my life as I transitioned into woman hood and left home at the age of 17. Being oblivious to the drama that surrounded her only hearing snippets and vague stories Roseanne was never tarnished to me as a budding lady nor did I give a crap about how she sang the national anthem. She meant a lot to me in those years, and looking on her now I am awed by her strength and her voice. I imagine things were pretty horrible for her in her personal life, as she thoughtfully, beautifully, and sometimes wing-nuttily looks back on the in this book. But I am filled with admiration for her now as I was then. Cutting through the one dimensional media circus that surrounded her, her failed and sad marriages, she reveals her truth, and I am happy to have read it. She truly took one for the team that is womanhood and I am grateful. She above any knows that television doesn't reflect real people, nor does the media reflect the true opinions of people, because they never told the real story, which is this: I loved her, and we all did.

Irreverent, deliciously funny!!

I have to say I enjoyed this book immensely. I couldn't stop listening to it all the way to the very end. I laughed at myself and enjoyed hearing all the hard times she went through. It made me feel so not alone. I never really new Roseanne, but now that I do I
wish I could spend an afternoon on the "Nut Farm" talking with her and drinking wine
and enjoying the "Mule" watching the pigs!

OMG, I so LOVE Roseanne

Roseanne, you rock!! While sometimes the dialogue appears to be THC induced, I totally LOVE it. I admit I'm a fan from way back and Roseanne continues to do what she does best. She say what's on her mind, in black and white, with good humour, and a taste of ethics. I gulped down the audiobook and my hubby is intrigued too even though he didn't watch the TV series. I hope you do live to a ripe old age Roseanne to keep the world honest. Thanks for sharing your history with us and letting us to get to know you a little more. I admire you speaking openly about your mental health too. Thank you.
