Insightful and relatable

Chocked full of nerdy facts and insights many can relate too. I wasn’t expecting to feel so connected to the alcoholic loved ones part. Inspired to go to meetings to better understand how to love an alcoholic that will predictably let you down over and over again and drown in their own needs leaving you still trying to figure out how to put yourself first. This is not what the book is about, it’s what attacked my emotions and made me feel normal.

As I was listening to this audiobook, I kept thinking, how do people jump into life? I felt that Claudia Turner jumped into life and was taking it as it came. It was as if she had no direction and being in the hospital made her introspective about her life.

It is interesting that when we are force to rest, we ponder our lives; the what ifs, the whys, and why nots. But most of us are not worried about what our spouses are doing or are not doing. We are trusting them to do the right thing, but not Claudia. Her husband has demons that can affect their lives in a major way.

I love this audiobook because Claudia is free with expressing her feelings. She is open and honest about her situation. Life is not always pretty. Pregnancy can suck and drain you. Sometimes in marriage, you are carry more of the responsibilities than your spouse.
