Publisher's summary

Lopsided is not your ordinary cancer memoir. Meredith Norton displays the razor-sharp wit of a master humorist as she chronicles her experience, from the first appearance of her bizarre symptoms to moving in with her compulsive parents and their five television sets.

Along with a hilarious and harrowing portrait of her treatments, she offers amusing memories of her offbeat life, rants about well-meaning family and friends, and rails against self-pity.

Funny, irreverent, and down-to-earth, Norton's memoir brings a refreshing burst of attitude to a difficult experience she refuses to be intimidated by.

Funny and scary

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I was recently diagnosed with IDC & am doing as much research as I can possibly cram into my brain... Norton's book was informative in its way and funny as hell. In the spirit of Augusten Burroughs & David Sedaris she made me laugh out loud while driving. I'm so glad she wrote this... I thought I was the only one who handled things this strangely! (thinking about how short the dr. was to the point where she couldn't take in what he said, etc.). Nice to know other people are as twisted AND live to tell the tale!

What other book might you compare Lopsided to and why?

Running with Scissors (for the cancer patient!)

What about Carrington MacDuffie???s performance did you like?

Great reader!

One of my favorite teachers..EVER

Had miss norton as my 7th-8th grade core teacher. Her story telling in this book is as good as it was then. Learned more about her life than I ever did about English and history but enjoyed every second. Quite a few of the school stories are from my time with her teaching and recall hearing some of her life tales told in this book. Was way better when she threw in the gritty details and acted each sentence out but the book still was a great insight into her time after my two years in her class. Pray she rests in peace.
