Publisher's Summary

From the author:

"My name is Tucker Max, and I am an asshole. I get excessively drunk at inappropriate times, disregard social norms, indulge every whim, ignore the consequences of my actions, mock idiots and posers, sleep with more women than is safe or reasonable, and just generally act like a raging dickhead. But, I do contribute to humanity in one very important way: I share my adventures with the world."

Actual reader feedback:

"I am completely baffled as to how you can congratulate yourself for being a womanizer and a raging drunk, or think anyone cares about an idiot like you. Do you really think that exploiting the insecurities of others while getting wasted is a legitimate thing to offer?"

"Thank you, thank you, thank you: for sharing with us your wonderful tales of drunken revelry, for teaching me what it means to be a man, for just existing so I know that there is another option; I too can say 'screw the system' and be myself and have fun. My life truly began when I finished reading your stories. Now, when faced with a quandary about what course of action I should take, I just ask myself, 'What would Tucker do?', and I do it, and I am a better man for it."

"I find it truly appalling that there are people in the world like you. You are a disgusting, vile, repulsive, repugnant, foul creature. Because of you, I don't believe in God anymore. No just God would allow someone like you to exist."

"I'll stay with God as my Lord, but you are my savior. I just finished reading your brilliant stories, and I laughed so hard I almost vomited. I want to bring that kind of joy to people. You're an artist of the highest order and a true humanitarian to boot. I'm in both shock and awe at how much I want to be you."

"You are the coolest person I can even imagine existing. If you slept with my girlfriend, it'd make me love her more."

What the Critics Say

"Occasionally, a book comes along that horrifies and disgusts you while making you laugh out loud all at the same time. This book does that and more." (The Rebel Yell)

"Not all the stories from the book are in the audio"

Love this audiobook, but one of my favorite stories "Tucker tries buttsex, hilarity does not ensue" is not mentioned in this audiobook. I'm not sure if there are other stories missing but I feel cheated that this isn't the same as the actual book.

"Great stories, dont bother if you offend easy"

This book is truly raunchy and pretty funny. To agree with many other reviews on this Audible, the narrator (who happens to be the author) does read entirely too fast... so fast that he tends to slur his words from time to time. I've read some other reviews from people who think this guy is lying and totally bullshitting all of these stories... I doubt it. I had some good laughs listening to this book, but it was a one time hit for me.

    Story
    "bad choice"

the main problem that I had with this book was the content. Other than the author being completely full of himself, several of the stories are ridiculously unbelievable. in one story, he claims to have been so drunk that he falls in love with a reflection of himself. So, either he is saying that he is so full of himself that he fell in love with himself or, more believably, he was so drunk that he became instantly gay. to make matters worse, the author who is also the narrator, is clearly drunk as he narrates the stories. His constant slurring and stumbling over words made me feel like a cop doing a field sobriety test on the roadside. a good friend recommended this book to me and now I have to go kick his ass.

    "Painfully funny."

My first exposure to Tucker Max was the Mating Grounds podcast, which I thoroughly enjoyed. For whatever reason, I put off listening to his books until now. Some of this is so funny I had to turn it off momentarily so I wouldn't miss the next thing he said. I can see where a lot of people would be turned off to this, but knowing him first as the more mature, articulate Tucker of the latter-day podcast probably gives me a different perspective. As others have noted, his narration does the book a slight disservice.

I listen to stand up and comedy on the regular. This is solid material and hope the rest of his stuff is as good.

    Any additional comments?

If you want to laugh someone stealing candy from children and kicking puppies, this book is for you. He didn't really speak about those two things but everything is else is too disgusting to write down. Poorly written. Poorly read. It's simply not funny. It's just gross.

I needed to pause the story more than a few times. I'd be laughing so hard and so long that I'd literally miss parts of the book! very good!
