Publisher's summary

This is the book Frank Sinatra failed to stop, the unauthorized biography of one of the most elusive public figures of our time. Celebrated journalist Kitty Kelley spent three years researching government documents (Mafia-related material, wiretaps and secret testimony) and interviewing more than 800 people in Sinatra's life (family, colleagues, law-enforcement officers, personal friends). Fully documented, highly detailed and filled with revealing anecdotes, here is the penetrating story of the explosively controversial and undeniably multi-talented legend who ruled the entertainment industry for more than fifty years.

Critic reviews

"The most eye-opening celebrity biography of our time." (William Safire, The New York Times)

"A compelling page-turner...Kitty Kelley's book has made all future Sinatra biographies virtually redundant." (Los Angeles Herald-Examiner)

Good Insights into 'Ol Blue Eyes.

A smooth read. Slowed during casino license investigations, but a solid biography. I recommend it.

A Good Read - but...

I've listened to all of Ms Kelley's biographies here on Audible, but there's one glaring inclusion here which doesn't exist in the other texts - at the end of every chapter Ms Kelley gives the names and dates of all she gleaned info from. Usually these are given at the end of a book as a Bibliography or at best at the bottom of a page as Footnotes. We don't really need to know all of her sources, (though I recall there was a problem when she conceived the biography & intent. Perhaps these were included to demonstrate that she was not writing ANY fiction - just stating actual facts...)
To have them all read out like the rest of the text is extremely off-putting to me, as well as interrupting the flow of the narration. Other than that it's an enjoyable look into Sinatra's life, which I've enjoyed more than J Kaplan's "Frank: The Voice".

Anna Fields harsh voice makes it almost impossible

we all know how truthful the press is and much of the book was repeating stories from the press written by a gossip columnist. you make your own decisions.

Insightful Accounting of Frank ‘s Life

Well documented biography that provided truthful access to Frank Sinatra’s impact on millions of people worldwide. It is an amazing account of the power of money and brut force. His story cheapens the lives of honest, hard -working people. Kitty Kelley finally to us the truth. Shame on all the US Presidents who took Frank’s money and protected his illegal activities then presented him honors.

Annoyed -Had to return

I got the book because I missed the episode of this subject on Kitty Kelly's TV show so I was excited to be able to read it, but the publisher pulled a bait and switch on me. Now I am sorry but I just can't with the person reading it... yes, I should have read who was reading, but why would you have the author read a small part and not the entire book, and then use the authors voice on the damn sample??

Did you get upset too?

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Just any untruths, if there are any.

Would you recommend His Way to your friends? Why or why not?

I would,if they were Sinatra fans.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

It did but at some points got old and repetitious.

Do you think His Way needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

N/A

Any additional comments?

I did not know all this about Frank Sinatra. I knew of the possible mafia ties, but not of the spoiled kid that grew to a spoiled old man. The pain he caused many people around him and strangers. I liked the book, there were a lot of references, but Kitty Kelley was a name I was told not to trust. By The end of the book I wish I could go back in time and punch a young Frank Sinatra in the face and put him in his place.
