Publisher's Summary

The exclusive behind-the-scenes story of the Mauricio Pochettino revolution at Spurs, told in his own words.

Since joining the club in 2014, Mauricio Pochettino has transformed Tottenham from underachievers into genuine title contenders. In the process, he has marked himself out as one of the best young managers in the world, more than holding his own against the Premier League's established heavyweights. He has done so by promoting an attacking, pressing style of football and by nurturing homegrown talent, fully endearing himself to the Spurs' faithful along the way.

Guillem Balagué was granted unprecedented access to Pochettino and his backroom staff for the duration of the 2016-17 season, and he has therefore been able to draw on extensive interview material with Pochettino, his family, his closest assistants, players such as Dele Alli and Harry Kane and even a very rare conversation with Daniel Levy to tell the manager's story in his own words.

From Pochettino's early years as a player and coach to his transformation of Tottenham into one of the best teams in England, this audiobook uniquely reveals the inner workings of the man and of his footballing philosophy. It also lays bare what it takes to run a modern-day football team competing at the highest level over the course of a single campaign. The result is the most comprehensive and compelling portrait of a manager and of a club in the Premier League era.

Brave

The narrator was a bit cringe worthy at times, but the message was amazing. Poche is a man of honor, a quality lacking at the highest level these days.

Different to what I expected

Really enjoyed the format of this book, and there were some really good clear lessons that I have taken on board from Pochettinos leadership philosophy.

good insight into football management

as a spurs fan its a real insight into the behind the scenes stuff.
far more honest and informative than the tainted and biased dross
dished out in newspapers.it makes for positive reading at the end
of our current and dissapointing season.maybe they should do one
at the end of every season? i would recommend it to fans of any
football club as the perfect gap filler in the close season.

Inspiring and a real side to modern football

Essential listening for any Spurs fan. Learn what Poch is all about. If you want to have an opinion on the project underway at our club then you have to hear this. If you are not a Spurs fan but are keen to see what it takes to develop a player and build a squad that performs at the highest level the this is also for you. I'm left even more in love with Poch and his commitment to keeping football real and playing for the right reasons. Amazing. Inspiring. COYS

Ruined by the narrator!

I was really looking forward to listening to this book, but I just couldn't listen past the second chapter. The narrator for me spoiled this book. His voice and exaggerated pronunciation, he would be far better off reading War of the Worlds or a Charlotte Bronte novel!

Fascinating

Full disclosure I’m a Spurs fan but I think this brilliant book would be interesting to any football fan.
Full of fascinating detailed insights about the details of how and why Pochettino managers.
He sounds a very thoughtful and intelligent man, not traits I previously associated with professional footballers.

Essential for any Spurs fan

This is an incredible insight into Pochettino, life behind the scenes at Spurs and at football clubs in general.

It's essentially a diary that he has kept during the 2016/17 season, but offers very personal insights and experiences not just from this period but also from Pochettino's past too.

I hope he's continued to keep a diary, as honestly I'd pay to read a new one every season. It's unparalleled access into the world of football, beyond what we see on TV screens and at the stadium. I now have even more respect for Poch, his team and even Daniel Levy.

If you're even a semi-literate Spurs fan, this is essential reading/listening.
