Publisher's Summary

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update", before "Sarah Palin", Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV.

She has seen both of those dreams come true.

At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon - from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence.

Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've all suspected: you're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Includes special, never-before-solicited opinions on breastfeeding, princesses, Photoshop, the electoral process, and Italian rum cake!

"Late night laughing to myself - thank you"

I listen to audio books late at night while I putz around doing house-work when kids and husband are sleeping. Usually pick a thriller, but went for some light fare this time and laughed my ass off! Thank you very much Tina Fey.

    "Simply the best."

The stories are a great mix of things we know nothing about and SNL talk. Best audiobook performance from all that I've heard. There's a difference between reading with inflection and performing it. Tina goes the extra mile to perform it and it's really entertaining. As a fellow north east native, I appreciated the talk of the Jersey Shore, PathMark, and Route 80 west... And of course the more current info as well. I'd love to hear more from Tina in another book, including more about Mean Girls and 30Rock since the show wasn't over yet when this was written.

Entertaining and quick witted. My husband and I listened to this during our drive up the California coast. We loved every minute of it!

"Excellent book by a hysterical woman"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It is a great mood booster.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bossypants?

I like that Tina talked about being a mother and raising her daughter but didn't do it in the usual 'I am no longer the person I was and my whole life revolves around children now and I think they are so wonderful and there are no ugly babies ever" way.

Have you listened to any of Tina Fey’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have always been a fan of Tina Fey. This made me admire her even more. She appeals to all kinds of audiences.

    Any additional comments?

I was quite surprised that Hachette let 6 glaring errors slip in this book (winner of Audiobook of the Year Audie award), 4 of which are repeated sentences of audio and all rather close together. By no means did it make me put the book down or stop listening. But for a company that is known for holding themselves to such high standards, quite a miss.

Wonderful and entertaining! Tina Fey is a hysterical writer but even more hysterical to listen to. So glad I did.

    "Love Tina Fey."

If you enjoy honesty about show business and personal life this book is for you. Tina Fey does a great job on telling her story about her life and her perspective on life.

This is a great listen and how she reads her memoirs is amazing. If you like first-person perspective and want to know about how difficult being a funny woman can be... I recommend this book! It is feminist, funny, and personable.

    "I love Tina Fey."
Would you consider the audio edition of Bossypants to be better than the print version?

I cannot imagine reading this book without Tina Fey's inflection.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved how there were funny parts... seriously hilarious parts...but also a lot of real, meaningful moments. The part of the book talking about her playing Sarah Palin is really cool. You really see everything that went into playing that part

What about Tina Fey’s performance did you like?

Saying things under her breath.... so funny.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I pretty much did... I got the book before I left for a business trip and listened to it for my flight portions and even some in my room while i was getting ready!

    Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to any Tina Fey fans, 30 rock fans and people who love to hear about the difficulty and success of female careers.
