The Story Behind The Songs

An honest, open, heart rendering autobiography of one of my favorite performers. As a result of this book, I will hear Steven Curtis Chapman's songs with new insights and compassion. Every person has a story on this great adventure called life, but don't ever assume you know it without knowing the person. Highly recommend!

Anointed!!

This book was so anointed!! God truly turned tragedy into triumphs many times over for Steven and his wife and family and it was extremely inspiring to read. The narrator did an excellent job reading as if it was Steven Curtis Chapman himself!

It's Raw and Real, It's God!

Loved it so much! A story that does not just tug at your heart and give an easy answer to the grief we experience here on this earth, but still points us to the God who is our only Hope. It truly shows that Hope!

Loved it!

I loved how SCC writes in such an authentic, candid, real, and relatable way. I am encouraged, inspired and blessed to have listened to this book. I had a hard time with the narrator at first (I really wanted it to be SCC’s voice) but I grew to enjoy it. The first chapter started a little slow for me but then I couldn’t stop listening. Highly recommend!

Such a good book

I haven’t done very many reviews of Books, but I just had to write one for this book. This is one of the best testimony books I have read (listened to). It is honest, raw, redemptive and beautiful. I Have always loved the music of Steven Curtis Chapman, but I have so much more respect for him now.

Genuinely beautiful.

This book gives a beautiful context to one of the most inspiring musicians I have ever heard, and reveals another beautiful inch of the glory of God.

Must read if you are a SCC fan

I've always been a SCC fan, but this book gave so much insight to his life. It was also very uplifting and encouraging to me an entrepreneur who sometimes forgets that others didn't make it big on easily, that there is a process and work to be done in all of us.

Beauty for ashes

I so enjoyed this truthful story of a wonderful family who bravely and honestly share their life events and the unconditional love of God that brought them this far in their journey to heaven.
I will always cherish the ways which God continues to use them to bless so many lives, mine included.
May God's grace shine upon them, everyone.
