She Kept the Minnie Mouse

There's a reason I ended up with a 2 minute story, "Fairy Tales Do Happen" from the 2013 Reader's Digest collection, "The Best Life Stories." I'm already a sucker for reading in print those cheerful, inspiring Reader's Digest vignettes - and "Life in These United States" and "Humor in Uniform" are always good for a laugh. I ended up buying this Audible as soon as I heard about it because I know the author, Elliott Levanthal.

Elliott and Julie's story is a quick, hopeful tale of love found, lost, and found again. It put a smile on my face, especially since I know they are still happy together.

Steven Menasche narrates and he's fine, but Elliott has a distinct voice. I would have enjoyed hearing him tell his own story.

And about narrators - well, I just discovered that there's a "Reader's Digest Humor in Uniform: A Selection of Classic Comic Anecdotes" (2016) narrated by M*A*S*H stars Elliot Gould, Jamie Farr, Mike Farrell, and Loretta Switt. That looks like fun.
