Publisher's Summary

Obesity is omnipresent today. In many cities over half of the adults are obese, and many of the children are as well. One of the largest contributors to obesity is binge eating. Binge eating is when someone is driven to eat compulsively and keeps eating past the point of fullness and even past the point of physical pain.

It is often done in an altered state of consciousness in which the eater doesn’t even notice that she/he is eating. Binge eating quite often is a contributing factor to the diabetes epidemic.

This book will discuss the causes of binge eating and help you learn how to stop it! By learning what triggers a binge eating episode, a person is empowered to break the cycle that keeps them unhealthy and unhappy.

Also explained is why diets will not make you thinner nor stop overeating. The bad habits that keep you locked into continuing binge eating are described along with an easy way to do away with them. A guide to making a food plan that will give you complete control over your food intake is included.

Finally, there is a discussion devoted to strategies for continued success in avoiding binge eating and its associated maladies in the future.

Topics include:

  • Why dieting doesn’t work
  • Why you should eat the foods you crave and not deny yourself
  • How to recognize the things that trigger binge eating
  • How to neutralize triggers
  • How you can be overweight and malnourished at the same time
  • Identifying and eliminating bad habits that contribute to bingeing
  • The difference between nutrient-rich healthy food and nutrient-poor processed food
  • How to improve body image and self confidence
  • Where does the urge to binge come from
  • How to avoid getting diabetes
  • Freeing yourself from binge eating
  • How to meal plan

Very informative..

I've never considered myself a binge eater before listening to this book. When I think of binge eaters I'm picturing someone who's severely overweight and I'm far from it. But now I know my senseless eating puts me in the binge category. This book not only brings bad eating habits to your attention, but also gives tips for better habits for a healthier lifestyle. I would definitely recommend the narrator (who did a great job) and the book. I was given a free copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily decided to leave this review.

Great Insight to Binge Eating

Having battled with binge eating my whole life, this book helped me to learn what triggers those urges. There are several books or there about the topic, but this one helps you to understand what triggers binge eating, what effects binge eating had on your body, and provides a guide on how to overcome the drive to binge eat. The narration of this book was done very well. The narrator was pleasing to listen to. I was given this free review copy at my request in exchange for an honest review.

Great resource for a common problem

Binge eating is a very common issue, and one that I've experienced myself. As Louis CK once said, meals aren't over when I'm full; meals are over when I hate myself. This audiobook offers a lot of very helpful guidance on how to limit portions, curb overeating, and address the most common causes of binge eating. I found it tremendously useful for my own life. Definitely recommended. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

AWESOME!

I am a very impulsive eater, always looking for what tastes good instead of what I SHOULD EAT. I learned a lot by listening to this audiobook, and how to recognize the signs, and do things about it. Very helpful and informative, definitely worth the listen :) I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. What I needed to hear

This is my first time using this app, and I decided to pick this topic because I’ve been having issues with my eating disorder. I wish this book kind of gave more information or be more personal in a way but it helped me a lot to realize that I shouldn’t put so much pressure on myself, When I was listening it was like he was reading my mind, every little word he said. he also included that we are stuck on the idea of what a perfect body is or not giving ourselves enough credit and how damaging social media can be, that it can effect the way we think about ourselves negatively which is so true in today’s society.

Useful information for all!

When I see a title like this, I usually think about someone who has a real problem, but we all do it! As this book illistrates, even if it's only from time to time, we all binge eat! The author clearly spells out many reasons why we do this and gives useful suggestions on how to avoid or work with the desire in a healthier way. I was given this book for free at my request in exchange for this honest and unbiased review.

Definitely a helpful guide to a ton of people

This guide had a ton of useful information to myself and I would believe others who have fallen into the binge eating problem. It helps explain a lot of the disorder and how to curb and take away its power over you. Thought the narrator did an awesome job as well. Short but sweet! I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Informative

A useful self-help guide for anyone who has experienced binge eating, surprisingly more of us indulge in this behaviour but are not aware! The book helps identify problems and the solutions, worth the time to read it, great narration by Jeff Lewis.
