Must Read!!!!! 💕💞💘

Lydia and Sylvester had a one night 🌃 stand that lead to something unexpected. Sylvester is a man that is not into falling in love ❤️. Lydia is the kind of woman 👠 that is all about the fairy tale. I'm glad they were able to work it out in the end.💋❤️❤️‍🔥💞🥰

Enjoyable storyline

I found this was an enjoyable audio book that had
a good storyline to it and the only reason I gave it
a four star instead of a five is because the ending
was left a little in the air you don’t know if the main
male character forgave his father and if his parents
welcome his bride to be and his baby girl.
The narrator did a good job of bringing the characters
alive.

Betrayal Deception Love

Corporate intrigue with a dose of betrayal, deception and love are the main drivers behind this fascinating novel. Lydia and Sylvester manage to find each other and have an intense interaction which is fanned to an intense heat once they reconnect weeks later when Lydia turns out to be the professor for Sylvester’s class. Facing numerous obstacles, including an unexpected pregnancy, Sylvester is suddenly thrust into having to make the hard decision on where he is expecting life to take him as well as looking into the mirror and finally discovering what would make him happy. The narrator of this book does a great job in expressing the emotions that the writer has depicted in her characters and we are certainly pleased with the happily ever after.

Wonderful story.

I really enjoyed how well this author brought Sylvester through his life and anger issues and let himself be happy and start a new chapter in his life. I am also glad that they were able to come together and give their little girl a good life.

2nd chances 🥰 💞 👩‍❤️‍👨

This book is fairly quick to read or listen to. It's about a billionaire playboys second chance at love, after having a one night stand with Lydia, at a wedding. Lydia ends up being Sylvester's professor after their one night stand. Lydia really changed Sylvester. Sylvester was a billionaire and a business mogul. Sylvester actually has a lot of trouble going on with his business and his family dynamics. If anyone found out that Sylvester and Lydia had been together, that would be even worse. Sylvester is determined to win Lydia over, no matter what. Sylvester's family tries to pay Lydia to make her and a unexpected situation go away. What will Lydia do? It seems there is someone spilling all of Sylvester's secrets. Sylvester makes this 2nd chance count.

Unexpected

I enjoyed this story. It has an age gap (she's older) taboo element (student / teacher) and lots of family drama.
Not sure where the "dads best friend" part comes in???
Standalone with no Cliffhangers.
She has been burned by love before and isn't looking for anything permanent.
He is a billionaire playboy who falls hard, even if it takes him time to realize it.
I enjoyed the flow of the story until the last few chapters. It went into lots of details about little things then next to nothing about the climax finish.

Story as Generic as the Title

This is the first book I've read/listened to by this author, and unfortunately, I did not come away impressed. The book feels incredibly generic, the characters lackluster, and the plot a simple mishmash of popular contemporary romance tropes as evidenced by what you read on the book cover: billionaire, second chance, and surprise baby. The cover also states that it's a dad's best friend tale, but I must have missed when that was stated at some point in the book; I was surprised to see it on the cover when I went to do this review. In any event, obviously, it was not even remotely a plot point. The characters are absolutely flat, and the author tells us what's happened or is happening more than shows us. Yes, the book has a few pivotal scenes, but I was surprised at how much narrative there was and how large passages of time were simply glossed over, like the very important month during which the couple is separated after she tells him she's pregnant.

The hero’s relationship with his father and his father's business was absolutely nonsensical. The hero owns his own sizable company, yet he lets his father control him in order to gain access to his dad's larger company. The dad would prefer to give the company to an underling weasel who’s been with the company for 8 years than his own son for no good reason that was ever explained. The father was unwilling to listen to the hero about very important things, and his rationale—when given—was insane. This book has many plot holes and plot threads that were completely dropped.

This is so poorly done that I actually wonder if it is published by a publisher who hired a ghostwriter to actually write the story. This is more common than you think in contemporary romance, especially trope-driven genre romance; there are even courses you can take that encourage the practice! Some ghostwriters are very good, but most have severe lacks. Some of the ways things were phrased in the book (a stifled heart rate?), the way some of the business aspects worked between the dad and the son, and many other things revealed to me that either the author or the publisher's ghostwriter didn't really have a clue about how these things would work in a billion dollar business or with a high-power family. Billionaire romance can be exceedingly steamy, bordering on raunchy. If that's what you're hoping for, this book is not either. It has a little bit of on-screen touchy-feely going on, but then it's pretty closed-door after that. This book is absolutely ho-hum and lackluster. Not recommended.
