I wanted to like it

Sooo looong! I really wanted to like this one. I’m a fan of Cassie Cole’s other books, as well as rh in general. However, the overall slow pace of this book really detracted from my enjoyment of it. There is a lot of intrigue, but I just couldn’t muster up the interest to care because the pace was so slow. The steamy bits took so long to get going I hardly paid attention! They were sub par though because the dialogue during the acts was cringey. I will say that the voice acting was excellent. All that said, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Mystery and romance in one.

I liked the way the mystery was written and how the romance just snuggled in. You have Tessa a woman who works hard trying to do right for her family. Working as a server for a catering company she runs into one sweet six year old. While helping find her dad, Tabitha and Tessa start having a bit of fun. When Tabitha finally spot her dad Tessa finds out that he is the millionaire having the party. Then enters the security, and then the chef. All together the mystery comes into play and as the pieces get put on the board Tessa finds out she's in the middle of something she didn't plan on.
