Publisher's summary

Most of the big money belongs to Torquil Paterson Frisby, the dyspeptic American millionaire - but that doesn’t stop him wanting more out of it. His niece, the beautiful Ann Moon, is engaged to ‘Biscuit’, Lord Biskerton, who doesn’t have very much of the stuff and so he has to escape to Valley Fields to hide from his creditors.

Meanwhile, his old school friend Berry Conway, who is working for Frisby, himself falls for Ann - just as Biscuit falls for her friend Kitchie Valentine. Life in the world of Wodehouse can sometimes become a little complicated.

Classic Wodehouse and very enjoyableI

Would you consider the audio edition of Big Money to be better than the print version?

In some circumstances (weeding or washing up!).

Would you be willing to try another book from P. G. Wodehouse? Why or why not?

Oh yes, definitely

What does Jonathan Cecil bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

His voices are very good - he has just the right sort of 'English' accent to do the silly young men.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No - over three or four days

Any additional comments?

Very good escapism and cheering. I heard Stephen Fry say that Wodehouse's books were the most borrowed in prison libraries - surprising but true.

Too Much Left Unsaid

Typical Wodehouse hijinks superbly narrated by Jonathan Cecil.
However, the ending seemed a bit abrupt (as if the author had hit a hard publication deadline & had to stop prematurely) leaving too many elements unresolved.
Yes, guy A gets girl A, but does guy B really get girl B, does the promised windfall eventuate, do the families reconcile? Honestly, there’s still half a book of the good stuff left unsaid.

Wodehouse and Cecil. Perfect combo!

Another great one off story featuring American financiers, vivacious young women, wayward Earl's, sensible aunts and silly young men. And all brilliantly narrated by Jonathan Cecil.

Classic Wodehouse

Terrific fun. The usual cocktail of pretty heiresses, impecunious aristocrats and confusion. Plot thin but the language is marvellous.

A great yarn, well read

The very best of English self-deprecating wit pulled together in a web of slap dash humour and skulduggery - PGW at his very best!
