We can not raise a happy child if we are constantly screaming threats at them. No parent sets out to hurt their child, but this type of parenting does just that. To raise a happy child that wants to behave, you need to retrain yourself first. You need to change the way you think and react to their behavior. You need to understand your triggers and heal yourself. Only then you can begin to heal your relationship with your children.

All Amara wants for her birthday is to visit her father’s family in New York City - Harlem, to be exact. She can’t wait to finally meet her Grandpa Earl and cousins in person and to stay in the brownstone where her father grew up. Maybe this will help her understand her family - and herself - in new way. But New York City is not exactly what Amara thought it would be. It’s crowded, with confusing subways and suffocating sidewalks, and her father is too busy with work to spend time with her and too angry to spend time with Grandpa Earl.

Mindfulness and meditation have helped millions to get to sleep with much more ease than ever before. Something that many parents haven’t considered is how these things can help their little ones to wind down, get ready for sleep, kick nightmares from their headspace, and settle in for a long night’s rest. Teaching meditation to your children might seem like an impossible feat, but many have found that their children are remarkably receptive to it when it’s presented like a story.

Self Improvement for Kids
This book couldn't have come at a better time. My granddaughter is at the age where everything frightens her. After listening to this quick little book, my granddaughter is now making me cut red construction paper into strips of bacon.... LoL. Even though this is a very quick listen, it's just long enough to keep a three year old captivated. The narrator did an outstanding job with the narration.

Short story helps children with fears.
The Story
This positive and well thought out story portrays a young girl with fears and the solution her and her mother find for coping and even overcoming them. It is written in a style that makes it a great tool for parents to use in assisting their children in the understanding of their fears. This is accomplished in a positive and supportive way.
Narration.
The narration is performed by Anna Stefano who sounds to be in her youth and does a superb job!

Understanding made easy for a child 👩👧
This book is a great way to alleviate fear in small children.
The author has found a creative way to soothe anxiety when a child's going through a worry stage. And the narrator did an excellent job portraying the character on my Granddaughter's level. Don't shy away because of the short amount of listening time as it's absolutely perfect for a short attention span. Anxiety Management 101, for Children
This is a sweet little tale about a girl that most children can relate to and her technique for managing anxious thoughts as they arise. This book is quite smart in the way it uses an every day metaphor (frying bacon) to present a basic tenet of anxiety management; identification and management of troubling automatic thoughts. It makes anxiety management more manageable for children...Bianca's new skill is easy and approachable and any child can learn it.
Narrator Anna Stefano did a great job with this book; she absolutely sounds like a real child. Her voice caught and held the attention of my 3.5 year old.
I would absolutely recommend this book to others, both from my perspective as an audio book reader and a psychiatrist who specializes in treatment of anxiety disorders. Kudos to Dr. Hessler and Anna!

Great message for kids and adults
I actually really, really loved this one! The story had such a great message, that I went around and made my husband and friends listen to it as well. It was so good and presented in a way that my daughter found it really fun to listen to as well. The narration was done by a child which it made it even more relatable for kids to listen to. I would have liked her to slow down a little bit in her narration, but I don't think it hurt the story. This will definitely be one that we continue to listen to all the time!

Story
Avery Bloom, who's bookish, intense, and afraid of many things, particularly deep water, lives in New York City. Bett Devlin, who's fearless, outgoing, and loves all animals as well as the ocean, lives in California. What they have in common is that they are both 12 years old and are both being raised by single, gay dads. When their dads fall in love, Bett and Avery are sent, against their will, to the same sleepaway camp. Their dads hope they will find common ground and become friends - and possibly, one day, even sisters.
