Powerhouse Team Pairs up for Second Novel

Lillian Porter has always wanted to fulfill her mother's dream of going west, so when she hears about a nanny position in Angels Camp, California, she defies her grandfather and takes a chance on a new future. But she quickly wonders if she made the right choice. There are rumors in town that her new employer, Woodward Colton, caused the death of his wife. This accusation doesn't match the man Lillian comes to know - and Mrs. Goodman, Woody's long-time housekeeper, is decisively on Woody's side - but many in town stay far away from Lillian because of her association with the Colton family.

Lillian's six-year-old charge, Jimmy, was there when his mother died, and he hasn't spoken a word since. Gently, Lillian tries to coax him out of his shell, hoping he'll one day feel safe enough to tell her the truth about what happened. But the Colton olive farm is no longer a safe place. Lillian encounters suspicious characters on their land and mysterious damage done to the farm. Will Mrs. Goodman and Jimmy be able to speak what they know in time to save Lillian from tragedy?

wonderful christian book

this book kept me on the edge on my seat until I finished it. the closer I got to the end, the more nail biting it became. just kept me wondering if the bad guy would get caught, or if he would prevail at the end. also had a growing sweet romance...without the illicit sex some authors think is necessary these days. if this is the kind of book you are looking for, I think you enjoy this book. at least I did.

Gossip, mystery, and an unsolved murder

Good book and well narrated! Encouraging, entertaining, and engaging storyline. A friend recommended this narrator and I will be looking for more of her work.

So GOOD!

This was a typically good Tracie Peterson novel. Have to give credit to Kimberly Woodhouse as is due. There are two characters in the book that just grab your heart. I won’t spoil anything. This is a must listen.

Beyond the Silence Review

Not only is this book well written and entertaining to engage with, it shows psychological perspective from different characters that is new and very clever. Furthermore, the narrator is excellent. Adding emphasis and emotion to every character, knowing the context before reading the lines. Amazing job all around. Would recommend this book to all my friends.

mystery was mean and cruel

What three words best describe Barbara McCulloh’s performance?

Swallowing, swallowing, swallowing... good gosh, move the microphone, turn it off, take a break, do something!! It got so super annoying I had to fast-forward many, many times.

Any additional comments?

Was an okay story I guess, definitely more mystery focus than Christian focus, and the mystery part got downright mean and cruel. Not my best listen.
