Love the book! Seems to be catered to the wealthy

I loved this book!! I couldn’t agree more with what was presented. However, the vast majority of the things mentioned - organic food, machines used, health devices, supplements etc - are so expensive! I have a new business and a wife and three children. There is very little left after major bills. Are there resources for cheaper clean living???

The book I have been looking for for the past year!

After a year of listening to many different Podcasts daily this book has summed up about 90% of what I have learned about health and fitness. I really enjoyed having the author narrate it also!

Tremendous

The most comprehensive book written yet on healthy living. Beyond training delves into the physical and mental side of exercise as well as diet and nutrition. Most importantly, the methods and wealth of information shared is largely grounded and based on science and medicine as well as the results from real life practical implementation. This is the type of book that you read, and re-read over time and lean on as a critical source of information for years to come.

An all out assault on stupidity

if you are familiar with Ben Greenfield you know you already know you that you won't be suffer from endless clichés. Ben tends to just get to point right away in his podcasts. He is fairly succinct considering the subjects he tackles; considering how long this audiobook is, you would think that there would be a lot of backstory or setup. Nope it's just hours of essential info. Don't space out or you'll miss a revolutionary idea and will be sorry.

I am an over the hill desk pilot who wants to get back in shape enough to XBOX Kinnect vs hand controller (kidding); I now way more than I ever wanted to about health and fitness. If you really want your brain to "bulk up" on usable, bs-free training knowledge, there is an education waiting for you inside Beyond Training.

Not Ideal as an Audio Book

decent book but awful as an audio book as you need to listen to the author endlessly read out his website address over and over again, it gets really irritating!

content ok, but lots of jargon. Tim Ferris like

was seeking guidance on calculating and timing diet and efforts during training and it provides this. the last parts of each chapter and the book resembles the 4 hour work week for there are many references to other products and lots of jargon. it is difficult to not throw the baby out with the bathwater as there is so much bathwater! I had to listen to it several times to get value from it bit I think ultimately it was worth it.

Great Tips but Sometimes Questionable Science

Most of Ben Greenfield's tips on going beyond training are incredibly insightful, but on certain points the science seems dubious. When he talks about things like "Earthing", standing barefoot on the ground to balance out your electrons or the frequency of protons in stored food versus fresh food, it doesn't sound like hard science as much as the other tips.
