Publisher's summary

Hayden is on track to become the youngest partner in her prestigious DC law firm....

If the case she's just been handed doesn't destroy her first.

Hayden McCarthy knows firsthand the pain that follows when justice is not served. It's why she became an attorney and why she's so driven in her career. When she's assigned a wrongful death case against the government, she isn't sure if it's the lucky break she needs to secure a partnership - or an attempt to make sure she never gets there.

Further complicating matters is Andrew Wesley, her roommate's distractingly attractive cousin. But Andrew's father is a congressman, and Hayden's currently taking on the government. Could the timing be any worse?

The longer she keeps the case active, the higher the stakes become. Unknown enemies seem determined to kill the case - or her. Logic and self-preservation indicate she should close the case. But how can she when justice is still just beyond her reach?

Cara C. Putman Continues to Excel

I began following Cara Putman when she was writing for Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense. Beyond Justice is absolutely fascinating! Her topic is most timely, but the book shows much research, detail to character and scenes in the book. In short, I could hardly turn the book off. Plus I felt that I was right in the middle of everything. Cara Putman has continued to get better and better with every book she writes!

If you love legal thrillers with a cup of romance, you will love this book!

Bana-A little to WHOLESOME for me

wasn't sure what wholesome meant. was a little worried that it was another term for religionist. Not so in this book. yes, there are a couple of times faith came into play but not overpowering. Putman didn't shove religion all the way thru the book. like some religionist authors do. I find it very distraction from the storyline. when some author's do that like, they are trying to distract you, from a mediocre story. Not here, found, myself trying to figure out who was doing what. (No spoiler here). Thought I knew who several times. I kept being wrong and being pulled along the storyline to find the next thread to who, was I wrong. find out for yourself. Got this on the two for one credit deal. was worth it. was able to get book two in that deal.

Great Christian book.

This is a new Christian author to me on audible. I took a chance on buying the book as I had never heard of her before. I am glad I did. Tiny bit of romance as the gal tries to figure out who killed her client. This is a clean Christian book. I highly recommend this book. I hope audible will put more of her books on their list available for folks like me.

Intricate story

This is a compassionate story of a side of immigration one doesn’t often see in the news or the mainstream political arguments. It puts a personal face on an impersonal issue. The slow unraveling of the complicated plot pulled me along and kept me interested until the last secret was revealed. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good mystery mixed with a bit of romance and a contemporary issue that bears thought and consideration.

If I could, I would give it 0 stars

The writing is very simple. I would expect this type of book to be written by a middle schooler at best. I listened to about a third of the book, and am incredibly disappointed in myself for having done so. Incredibly SIMPLE.
