Publisher's Summary

A foreign prince on the run, a local girl in a serious jam, and a ’65 Mustang headed for Georgia. What could go wrong?

Leo: How my brother talked me into ditching our security team and embarking on this ridiculous adventure, I haven’t a clue. But it’s my duty to keep the idiot safe - something made even more difficult now that we’re stranded in the middle of nowhere with a local mechanic as our only hope. But this wrench-wielding beauty has problems of her own and a smile that might make me forget my obligations entirely.

Ruby: With one look at Leo Baxter, I know down to my cherry-painted toenails that he and his pain-in-the ass brother are nothing but trouble. Given my family’s dire circumstances, however, I’ve got little choice but to take these rich country-club rejects up on their offer. A fat stack of cash in exchange for a ride through the mountains. How bad could it be?

Between a Rock and a Royal is book one in a duet and is not a stand-alone title. To complete Leo and Ruby's story, download Blue Bloods and Backroads (book 2).

Leo and Ruby end with a misunderstanding

Road Trip. 2 guys who happen to be prince's from a country not many had heard of, but the future king wanted to visit the Carolina's and they lost their vehicle and ended up in a bar in Ruby's little town. Malcolm was intoxicated and being obnoxious when she left. She was gettting in her car where she was scared to death by who she thought was Malcolm but there was something different about him but she had hurt her ankle so she was very upset and her ankle puffed up she couldn't even drive herself home but Leo came to the rescue to take her home. They had to stay the night at the auto shop, where Malcolm decided the next day that he wanted to use Ruby and Ruby's car for their rode trip. Ruby and Leo seem to become close very quickly. Book 1 of this series. Enjoyed the characters. I own an audible copy. I am providing an honest review.

More, please

Sylvie Stewart still rocks writing romance. Can't wait to know how Ruby gets her HEA.
And what about Malcolm? Will he find the one for him? Or maybe he just needs a babysitter. lol

Beware! Cliffhanger!

I have listened to book 2 prior to book 1. And luckily it didn’t make too much of a difference. But I didn’t have to wait to find out what happens! Ruby and Leo are an amazing couple. Nothing beats Malcolm though. He has the attitude of a to be prince.

Like "Roman Holiday" in modern day North Carolina!

Like “Roman Holiday” in modern day North Carolina!

FYI, this audiobook is the first volume of a duet, so there is a cliffhanger. I loved the audiobook so much that I can’t wait to listen to the next one, “Blue Bloods and Back Roads”.

The narrator did a great job. Throughout, she was great at all the Southern characters and their accents. She took a chapter to really get the European royal brother's voices just right. She always had the right posh English accent for them. I think she was a little bit too high pitched for them at first, but she quickly corrected that.

Ruby is a very relatable character. She is a strong-willed young woman from central North Carolina. She gets in a tight spot financially because of a dastardly cousin. Then she meets a bedraggled pair of rich European twins who offer her money to show them around the mountains in her classic car. They are secretly on the run from their security team trying to have a vacation like regular people. The wacky story is so charming and funny! I recommend this for all fans of romantic comedies.

In the first two hours, I had started to lose my patience until, finally, Ruby and Leo met. The story wasn’t cute enough before that, but I had all the adorable romance I wanted from then on. The way that they met was just as funny and awkward as I could ever want. Leo is such a good, honorable, respectful guy. Ruby is a funny, feisty, loyal, strong Southern woman. They were great for each other. Leo's identical twin Malcolm is rather funny as well. The author is really great at writing romantic comedy.

I requested and received a free audiocode from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Just...wow! Phenomenal!!!

Not only was this a fantastic story, but the narration was perfect! I usually prefer multiple narrators but Megan Moses nailed it! These characters came to life and I was wholeheartedly enthralled!
I can’t wait to start on the next one to find out what happens!

Loved the chemistry between Leo and Ruby. The banter between Malcolm and Ruby. The narration was fantastic. Whether this is the first Sylvie book or the tenth, you wont want it to end.

Part One of a Royal Romance

Full disclosure: rich or royal book boyfriends are not my favorite read. But there is her knack for storytelling that makes me fall in love with Sylvie's prince anyway. You fall for Leo and Ruby from their first awkward meeting and want more all the way to the cliffhanger end....so jump in Between a Rock and a Royal....and be ready to continue with its sequel.

P.S. The narrator does Leo's accent so well, it's easy to melt right into the story!

Between a rock and half a book

A little bit disappointed that this is only half the book. I was already struggling with the iffy’English’ accent and I’m not sure I want to pay for the other half of the same book.
