Publisher's summary

An irresistible new love story from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Fool's Gold series, a town Library Journal calls "so appealing, readers will want to start scoping out real estate."

To overcome her painful past, baker Shelby Gilmore goes on the hunt for a friend - a male friend - to convince her stubborn psyche that men can be trusted. But where in a town as small as Fool's Gold will the petite blonde find a guy willing to not date her?

Dark, charming Aidan Mitchell puts the "adventure" in Mitchell Adventure Tours...and into the beds of his many willing female tourists. Until he realizes he's inadvertently become that guy - the one-night Casanova - and worse, everyone in town knows it. Maybe Shelby's boy/girl experiment will help him see women as more than just conquests so he can change his ways and win back his self-respect.

As Aidan and Shelby explore the secret lives of men and women, the heat between them fires up the Fool's Gold rumor mill. If no one will believe they're just friends, maybe they should give the gossips something to really talk about!

Great Story!

Another great Fool's Gold novel. Love the emotional switch of the characters while still staying true to gender norms.

Such a great ending to an amazing series.

Shelby is newly transplanted into Fool's Gold and has a history with abusive parents. Her brother Kipling was almost always there to save her until he was injured and in the hospital - enter Mayor Marsha who always knows shit somehow.

Aiden grew up on a farm outside Fool's Gold with a neglectful father and a mother who was too devoted to her husband. He has turned into somewhat of a man whore until one night an old conquest comes back to town looking to settle down and he can't even remember her name.

A Happily Ever After Story

When real life is stressful, there is nothing like a good happily ever after book to soothe the soul.
This book had a predictable ending, but, it was a fun adventure to follow. The narrator was outstanding.

Outstanding

This series makes me want to live in Fools Gold. Each time I read a new book it's like going back home again. Susan keeps all of the characters I've gotten to know alive and up to date as the stories continue. I can't believe this hasn't become a TV series. The audio narrator is great.

Great Beginning to new trio of Fool's Gold stories

If you could sum up Best of My Love in three words, what would they be?

Incredible role reversals

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aidan was my favorite character. As a male, he was open to learning things that were not usual for a male. He was alpha and sensitive at the same time.

Which character – as performed by Tanya Eby – was your favorite?

Shelby - Tanya really brought depth and warmth to her character.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Men have feelings too!"

Any additional comments?

I really love the Fool's Gold stories. This new one with the Aidan and Shelby was just a homerun. Loved this story so much.

meh.

A really interesting premise of male and female plutonic friendship. however, the author continually beats the audience over the head with rigid gender roles.

Meh...tedious...

Although necessary in order to follow the beloved Fool's Gold Series it was a tedious listen. The two main characters, while likeable, had the same two lines throughout. I'm hopeful for a better one next in line...

Are you kidding me?? Disappointing.

Are you kidding me?? This whole book is really bad what happened?? I'm usually a fan of mallerys writing but not this one. A girl who decides she is going to become friends with a boy! SHOCK HORROR! And nobody in the town can believe that a girl and a guy can be friends. Pathetic. Dont waste your time or money.
