great boxset
This author knows his way around turning phrases and words. Compelling and captivating.
The singing in Murder my Darling is priceless, and I found endless enjoyment and entertainment listening to it. With each story, I became more enchanted and enamored with the
legend that is Carson Reno. How can anyone not be???? His humor witt, thought process , and quirky ways must be experienced to be appreciated. I admired Carson's tenacity for truth and justice, even to his own peril at times. It was so uplifting and satisfying to see karma and justice done in all three stories. This boxset is a great representation of the intrigue, humor, suspense, and drama you can expect in this remarkable series. Don't hesitate. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a phenomenal job bringing the characters and story to life and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Great Series!
These three books are apparently just the tip of the iceberg in this series. Set in 1960's Memphis the characters are clever, likeable, and frequently humorous while at the same time pursuing some very clever mysteries. Classic tales. I will be looking for more. The narrator is a perfect fit for this type book.

Carson Reno sure is the best!
I really enjoyed Volume one of the Best of Carson Reno mystery series by Gerald Darnell. The set contains 3 stand-alone novels (Books 17, 18 and 19). Classic detective stories set in 1960’s Memphis and the Drake Detective Agency (I love that!). The narration by Tom Lennon is great! He is absolutely perfect to bring the characters to life!

Classic PI Mysteries
Like finding a new supply of old fashioned PI books. All set in 1960s Memphis they are hard to put down once you start. Brings many of the old Mike Hammer type stories to mind. Well narrated. All a all a great fun listen.

Good old fashioned pre-cell phone gumshoe.
These three books all feature the slightly ruffled Memphis based Carson Reno, owner and operator of the Drake Detective Agency. No high tech gadgets. Not graphic sex or violance, think Sam Spade with a slight Soutgern accent.
