John Langan’s story is worth the credit.

John Langan’s “Lost In The Dark” is awesome. Brave Ellen Datlow for having this story conclude the collection!

Meh, stories are mild PG and narration is lacking

This was my first horror shorts purchase, it won’t be my last but I’ll definitely read more into the descriptions and reviews next time!
The female narrator was excellent but the male narrator was in and out of accents like crazy-every now and then he would over exaggerate a key word to “remind you” oh hey, this guy is Hispanic or oh yeah, these are English blokes...but it was oddly peppered in with his regular reading voice. It’s tolerable and doesn’t detract from the stories, mainly because there’s no real suspense or twists.
Now I should mention that I’m an avid horror, mystery and suspense reader and started sneak reading Dean Koontz in grade school, so the mildness of these selections could be due to my brain being jaded to subtle terror innuendo. The stories are well written and their authors talented, but it’s nothing mind stirring or soul shaking for the veterans searching out new depraved weirdos to haunt your nightmares lol!

A mixed bag of spooky stories

Just like most collections of short stories, some are very good, and some are very not.
If you dont mind some inconsistency in quality and are able to make your way past the weak opening, this book has some gems that are definitely worth listening to.

Perfect choice for any horror fan

This is a great collection of horror shorts from some of the best in the business. Alone In The Dark is a standout for its subtlety and open interpretation.

Eh...

Enjoyed about 35% of the stories, and the feigned accents were awful. Out of the entire book, I would say only a couple left any lasting impression. The writing is excruciating in the last story, and the dead horse that was its conclusion, was beaten and dragged past the point of entertainment.

Eclectic, with some true horror and many " weird tales".

Excellent voice actors. Many unique stories, and a few that weren't as unique but still well done. A couple truly stayed with me, refusing to let me go. I will mention that I grow tired of stories that end with a cliffhanger for no good reason; it awesome like an easy way out most of the time.

I wanted to puncture my eardrums

The only horror I encountered in this was the dawning knowledge that there was nothing Horrific about the stories.
