Publisher's Summary

A hilarious and honest collection of stories, thoughts, and tales of a life in comedy from the award-winning comic Adam Hills.

Adam Hills is one the UK's best loved comedians. For 30 years he has been performing stand-up, hosting TV shows and winning the hearts of a nation.

Taking us from the early days of the Sydney Stand Up scene to hosting his own radio show, touring the world and eventually landing on British TV, Best Foot Forward is a story of a life in comedy. Along the way Adam shares some childhood tales and a few backstage blunders and encounters some fairly famous faces - the likes of Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Connolly, and that guy who sang The Macarena. Yes, him.

This is an utterly hilarious and honest collection of stories about Adam's ups and downs in the world of comedy. It's a lesson in following your heart, being positive and discovering that what makes you different also makes you unique.

A better Audiobook than book

Although this is a good account of the history behind the stand up comic - it's the story telling and performance from Adam reading it himself that makes this a great listen

From extra little bits to the outstanding accents you will be entertained from start to finish

Gives a little more than the book

Adam’s narration expands topics and delights listeners with his famed singing skills and accents. This happy and positive story won’t unveil any mystery or intrigue; it’ll make you smile stupidly as you skip through Adams comedy career.

Well worth a punt

Brilliant

An amazing book with an exceptional story. Comedy. Was pumping through Adam’s veins since childhood, I am thankful that Adam took the advice of a certain Scottish gent and did it. A book to make you cry with laughter.

Humourous

great being narrated by Adam himself, and he did all the voices of the characters and made mini comments about the narration.

Great book, wonderful listen

Adam Hills does a great job telling his own story. Along with doing impressive voice impersonations of all the other people in his narrative, he occasionally interjects little bits that aren’t in the written book. Makes you feel a bit special as a listener. His regular joy at life and also (no surprise here) sense of humour make this a wonderful listen and I highly recommend it!

thumbs up<br />

Great story, giving a lot if detail and information on a TV personality we all know and like. Truly a sympathetic person, and by no means anyone to pity in any way, shape or form! The one thing that distracted me was the constant hypercorrection of the nominative "and I" when the accusative "and me" should be used. it's really frustrating to people who have been madeto learn English hear its monolingual native speakers make these errors - why are we forced to do something you can't be bothered with? (And please don't offer the lame argument "language is a living changing thing" - then why were we given bad grades and lost out on opportunities for our "poor language skills?")
Adam Hills is a joy to listen to and quite inspirational.
