Belonging, the second novel in the Roslyn Trilogy, follows Latisha “Tish” Walker as she returns home after three semesters at Yale, having left her law studies behind to search for the mother she never knew. Raised by her loving grandmother, Rose, and supported by a tight-knit community, Tish had never questioned where she belonged—until a Thanksgiving visit with a classmate’s privileged family stirred feelings of rejection and identity confusion.

Her journey leads her to Tunica Resorts, a nearby casino town, where answers bring more heartbreak than closure. Back in Roslyn, she finds healing through unexpected friendships, a job at a local vet clinic, and a rediscovered love for storytelling. As Tish navigates questions of family, faith, and self-worth, a deepening bond with Grant—the classmate who first sparked her soul-searching—brings hope for the future.

I couldn't truly get into the story due to the audio of the narrator. Very broken with pauses and delays.
