Publisher's summary

To most townsfolk, he's known simply as The Beast. Annabelle Beiler has little interest in gossip, but she's heard about Adam Herschberger's scars and his gruff, solitary ways. Though he sounds like a character from one of Belle's treasured books, the man is real and, it turns out, just as unreasonable as the rumors claim. When a buggy accident wipes out the last of her daed's money, forcing him to sell their farm, Adam buys it. Then he offers Belle a deal - marry him, and her family can keep their home.

Everyone is shocked by Belle's decision, but she's determined to be a good fraa, cleaning Adam's rundown house and tending the overgrown garden. Breaking through her new husband's icy reserve will be another matter. Belle's courage and strength are abundant, but it will take true faith to guide Adam back to the heart of his Amish community - and to the loving marriage they both deserve.

Contains mature themes.

Delightfully Sweet

Sometimes you just need a happily-ever-after story. I love fairytales and this one was done well with fun surprises around the corners. A great new, inspirational and delightfully done version of Beauty and the Beast.

It’s was ok

It was ok, an interesting telling good with Amish settings. The narrator however, was very annoying to listen to. I had to order the book to get her voice out of my head, made me dislike Belle.

Wow! Wonderful, Wonderful Story!

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like the narration, however, I ended up really liking this narrator. She did an excellent job of changing voices. And, wow, oh wow! This story was great! I am glad that I also have the book in paperback because I plan to re-read this story many times.

One of my favorite Amish books

I’ve listened to this book already 1,000 times. When I finish listening I start it over. I listen to this when I’m sewing, driving or when I’m waiting in line somewhere. I want to get audiobook about Sadie and Ella too.

Sweet Amish Fairy Tale

This retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in Amish country was a lovely story. I wish the rest of the books in this series were available on Audible.

Great retelling of beauty and the beast storyline

I enjoyed this audio book. The narration was excellent. The author did an great job with an Amish retelling of Beauty & the Beast. It was a sweet listen with bits of spiritual inspiration throughout the book. I would re-listen to this and that is something I rarely do.

A pleasant surprise

This book was a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast with an arranged marriage twist. While the story did start off slow by chapter 9 it started picking up. I thought that the last chapter before the epilogue was really good, the message that the bishop gave was a message that I think we all need to not only hear but live. Most people tend to make judgments about people based on what we see or even rumors we hear instead of first taking the time to get the real story. Through Belle, this book shows how love and acceptance can really help a persons self-esteem.
