David put it out there. a must read for everyone and especially those people suffering from mental illness. This book can assist people to understand what goes on inside the mind of ones suffering with mental health problems. I'm highly recommending reading (or listening to) this book. well written,!!!

Captivating

The story makes you feel the many emotions we have all felt before. The narrator does a great job of making the story feel as if the story is playing in your mind like a movie. Each chapter will leave you wanting to listen to more. My heart goes out to all of those who battle with mental illness. As a ppd overcomer, I can relate to the feeling of black/white thinking and the power of dark thoughts on the mind.

A heavy and heart wrenching fantasy story

I usually try not to judge a book by its cover; however, that didn’t apply to this one, since I knew I would be immersed in the story from the moment I saw it.
This book is written in such a poetic way that I was able to vividly imagine the scenarios, sympathize with the characters, and connect with them in many different ways. Not to mention, the illustrations before each chapter offered a great summary of what was about to happen, which helped deepen my connection to the events.

The author himself delves into the darkest corners of his psyche, sharing them with us—the readers—through the lens of fantasy. He created such interesting characters with distinctive and unique personalities. Combined with the numerous plot twists and powerful messages, this made the book truly worth reading.

David uses metaphor in a clever way through his characters: Shadow, Orby, and Luna—each playing an important role in Zylo’s life. Through Luna, the story is enriched with emotional depth and love, as she is Zylo’s romantic interest. Through Shadow, we access the darkest and deepest corners of Zylo's psyche. Orby, on the other hand, symbolizes intuition.

We also get to follow Zylo’s healing journey, which could inspire readers to reflect on their own paths—even though this book isn’t a guide. Personally, I was able to look at things from a different perspective and I was put into deep thought. I was aware that trauma causes other disorders and problems, but I don’t think I realized the full extent of it. With every page, I learned something new, despite this being a mostly fictional world. After all, the author redirected his PTSD into a creative journey, which makes me think we all can learn quite a bit from his experiences.

As poetic as this book is, the writing is also raw and unfiltered, which could be triggering for readers with trauma—so I wouldn’t take the disclaimer lightly. Even though I haven’t experienced such traumatic and soul-crushing events, I was still deeply moved by the story and was absolutely hooked until the end.
I would definitely recommend it.

Matrix meets Chronicles of Narnia meets OFOTCN

Great story David! Very descriptive in your display of relatable characters that will surprise the reader. Trauma needs to be dealt with, and I think that was Daniels goal to the reader/listener.

Oh, and best of all, this book is narrated by Kasi Hollowell. For those of you who don't know her, Kasi is the narrator of many different popular series, including: 1) The Hidden Realm; 2) Fae of Snow and Ice; 3) The Bonds that Tie; 4) The Dark Series; 5) Ruthless Games; plus many more.

Spectacular, Stunning. Show-Stopping!

Shifting between fantasy and reality can be complicated, especially when those two worlds begin to overlap. However, the author does an amazing job at tying everything together as we follow along with Zylo's journey.

Enthralled from start to finish, this book has easily become my favorite and I can't stop thinking about it.
The themes of mental health, loss, grief, and acceptance are expertly intertwined within the poetic pages of this timeless creation.

Reading through it was an immersive experience that transported me to another dimension. Listening to it is no different as Kasi did an excellent job at bringing a marvelous story to life!

For those who enjoy the topic of mental health and the fantasy aspect mixed into one, this is definitely for you!

I loved this! The narrative is absolutely incredible. I loved the sound of the different characters voices. I am absolutely amazed. It’s incredible!

Phenomenal Story and Narration

Behind the Eyes of Zylo Moon
is such a phenomenal book.

The book itself is a must read because it is so unique. It brings awareness to dealings of grief, depression, and mental health struggles. I love the paperback because it has beautiful anime illustrations that complement the amazing journey.
So excited for the rest of the series.

Kasi Holowell is brilliant and it felt as if I was listening to a LIVE show or movie.
