Abusive relationships are not my thing

This was a joke, right? This book had to be a joke. One of the few books that I have ever given up on. Save your money/credits, unless you like asshole main characters who get off on power trips and wimpy, pushover females who make you want to vomit. Their whole relationship was emotionally abusive from the start, and I couldn't get over that. When a girl says stop, you stop. You don't say "shh, you'll love it." Just disgusting.

This is basically porn read in a monotone voice.

I am very grateful for Audible's return policy. I would Jaye to think I had wasted a credit on this book.

Murder Love Romance

If you could sum up Behind Closed Doors in three words, what would they be?

This book was well written bringing all characters to life. Full of romance alph males that you fall in love with.

I enjoyed all characters. Can't wait to get to know all of them

The characters were all unlikable. I listened through the first couple of chapters and when there were still no redeeming actions or positive character interactions, I gave up.

This was advertised as “better written than 50 shades”

I don’t think I can agree with that. I will say there is a better plot, but not much in the way of character development or creative storytelling. No foreshadowing and too many loose ends. Is this supposed to be a crime drama? Supernatural romance? Too many wishy washy elements with no ties to anything else in the story- all surrounded by steamy sex scenes with terrible dialogue. And A LOT of emotional and mental abuse.
Romance novels should not be required to perpetuate a moral compass, but there should be a trigger warning here.
I really WANTED to like the narrator, but the performance was only so so.

You need to take this out of romantic comedies

I only went through chapter 3 and it was depressing and ominous to say the least. This needs to be reclassified out of romantic comedies because it was too heavy and dark to be even remotely entertaining for somebody looking for a lighthearted story.

Just ok

This was more of a erotic than crime book. I finished it because I didn't want to waste my credit. Not the worst book ever but from from the greatest.
