The 21st century brought more plagues to mankind than any other time in history. Some were manufactured by man, others were acts of God. Even Mother Nature herself turned against the infestation known as man.
Nearly 30 percent of the population was killed by new virus strains. Racial tensions flared and evolved into two civil wars. Nations were fragmented with numerous "no-go" combat zones controlled by local warlords, most still active to this day.
At a time when mankind should have been reaching for the future, it devolved into a nearly apocalyptic present, pitting neighbor against neighbor and nation against nation until another 20 percent of the world’s population had been extinguished.
Then came the asteroid Wormwood.
And everything changed.

Fact: I am VERY critical about audiobooks. A narrator can either launch me into a fantastic journey or make me start gnashing my teeth in under 10 minutes. Happily, I can say that I enjoyed my adventure with Nocturna, Book 1.
The story concept is interesting with a spin on the origin of a classic horror creature. I was able to picture the locations and characters with ease. I also found myself liking and disliking certain people in the book, which doesn’t always happen.
The narrator’s ability to create different vocal characterizations and to consistently do so added to me being invested strongly in what was going to happen with the characters. The pacing of both the written and spoken word are also very good.
I’ve enjoyed the audiobook so much that I’ve bought all the books(Kindle) in the series as well as the audiobook for Nocturna, Book 2. I hope that the audiobooks for each additional book will be available soon. If you like action-adventure-horror genre and you haven’t read this author’s work, you should!
Now I have to own the whole series!
