Packed with information

This audiobook is packed with information that was well narrated and explained. I'm not a total beginner but new enough that the material was a great way to build on what I have already learned. Since I don't get to work with other beekeepers, the hive inspections audio were really helpful to listen - in fact, even more would be better! Pausing the audio for a chance to really listen carefully at the frames as fantastic. The ability to go back and listen specific terms, especially as refreshers for seasonally relevant information is really valuable.

Learning so much through this audible

I want to take my beekeeper certification course but can't make it to the course locally because I just had a baby. Im learning so much through this course when i get a free moment when the baby is napping. The course material seems like same as what was offered locally.

Clear explanations. Excellent pace.very thorough

This audiobook is excellent for a person who has not started keeping bees. It is also very good as a refresher. I have just finished the book on bee keeping equipment, Langstroth Hive parts and building and painting your hive boxes. It was very thorough. For me, with 2 working hives, I am looking forward to the sections on actual working with the bees in the hives. However, I will do follow every direction of the audiobook. It does make me review what I have set up, and think about things I might try.

With my morning coffee...

The presenter makes her points clear and in an understandable fashion. I feel like I'm sitting with her with my morning coffee talking about bees. It's always good to base the future on the knowledge of the past. Instructor made history enticing!

Takes the mystery out of beekeeping.

The audiobook is useful in pointing out the important facts about bees and bee keeping. Where would we be without bees is an important question for further discussion. As far as important species go, bees are top of the list. That’s only the start. We may lose all the plants that bees pollinate, all of the animals that eat those plants and so on up the food chain. Which means a world without bees could struggle to sustain the global human population of more than 7.5 billion. Our supermarkets would have half the amount of fruit and vegetables. For us the bee keepers in Africa and Uganda in particular, bee keeping and forest conservation can contribute to rural poverty reduction to a great extend. Therefore, sustainable use of forests through bee keeping for uplifting livelihoods should top the list in government policies and environmental and development organisations’ programmes.

I prefer this book for info on backyard beekeeping

I knew I need bees for the pollination of my apples and blue berries but I knew very about bee keeping until I listened this book. I would highly recommend this audiobook for anyone interesting in bees. I found it well organized and easy to listen and understand even for someone like me who knew almost nothing about bee keeping. Listening this book saved me money from not buying cheap used equipment and has helped me not to make a lot of mistakes. I thought it was excellent audio book to prepare someone like me who has no back ground in bee keeping.

Best Practices for Beekeeping

Sally is one of the best instructors I had experience with. She explains difficult concepts in a simple and lucid way with real life examples. Also you will never get bored when listening this audible as the narrator teaches with great energy and involvement. Here we can learn something new about bees and bee keeping each and every day of the year! All of them fascinating! Now I love my bees and can never learn too much or everything no matter how long I keep them! Great audiobook! I would like to thank Sally and his team for all the great effort and work they put together to make this course awesome!!

Great Book for Fundamentals of Beekeeping

Though I've been a beekeeper for 5 years but I've found this course is helpful for mw as well like when I started to listening than I've found some mistakes what I need to repair in my next project. For 2 years prior to setting up my hives, I read most every book, blog and forum post I could about natural beekeeping. I'm still learning. I started with top bar hives but switched to a medium frame, foundationless, Langstroth hive set-up 2 years ago. Queen rearing is my next big adventure. I really think a lot of my losses are due to poor queens. I live in PA USA and most queens are southern raised (Georgia, South Carolina). I find they are weak and not consistent in laying. This is an awesome audio book. Very easy to follow along. The audios are excellent and the material is easy to understand. This course is suitable whether you have top-bar or Langstroth hives or nothing have but willing to go through beginning. Thank you Sally R. Ball!

Knowledgable.

This audio book was fantastic. I listen it cover to cover and I retained a lot of very important information about behavior, identification of the different types of bees within the hive and the chores that they perform, general care, etc. I know I will need to refer back to the book for pest control prevention and treatment when the time comes. It was one of those very few books that I've listen that I didn't have to relisten a paragraph because I zoned out. It kept my interest all the way through and I learned so much about beekeeping and the do's and don't's of it. I feel very confident that I'll be successful in my new hobby of beekeeping. My beehives came the other day and I'm putting them together. My bees will be here in 3 short weeks and I know that I will have a smooth start thanks to this book.

Good comprehensive guide for the beginning

I've found this to be a great audio book for my first year of beekeeping. It's filled with useful information that have helped get me off to a good start. When I want to go more in depth, I go to one of my other books that have more detailed information. It's easy to understand and then use the info given, as are most "Dummy" books. The information given flows well and answers to most questions can be easily found. Great for beginners, or for those at a more advanced beekeeping stage. Definitely will keep it's place in my beekeeping book rotation.
