Publisher's summary

On Sunday, June 21, 2020, eighteen-year-old Linda Stoltzfoos of Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, was kidnapped and later murdered by Justo Smoker—a member of our family. This book is our attempt to share our story of grief, anger, and pain but also of unexplainable grace, kindness, and mercy at the hands of the Amish community—of which Linda Stoltzfoos was a part. We hope that in sharing our story you can experience what it’s like when undeserved mercy confronts undeniable evil, when kindness upends condemnation, when heaven engages hell.

A true story of grace amidst tragedy!

I live a county away from Lancaster where this story unfolded and vividly remember this playing out in the news. My 10yr old son at the time was enamored with the hunt and reward money for this lost Amish girl.

This book gives an incredible first person view (from a father and a daughter who is Linda's age) of how the story played out .. yet in a way that can only be described as truly counter cultural.

While the Amish are many times referred to as backwards with regards to their adoption of technology, this book sheds a deep light into the way their humble grace and belief in God's goodness was played out in such an incredible way and should serve as an example for all.

Thank you Tim and Megan for sharing honestly from your hearts in a very compelling book that should be read by all.
