Publisher's summary

"If you've ever found yourself picking off your nail polish, sitting in your sweats with an empty carton of Ben & Jerry's, wondering, "Where are all the good men, and why isn't a gorgeous one standing shirtless in my kitchen mixing me up a pomegranate mojito?" I hate to tell you this, but it's your own fault. Not to worry - I'm here to help you make that fantasy a reality, with one major addition: you'll be sipping that mojito with a big, glittering diamond ring on your left hand.

"Sounds too good to be true? It isn't. As a third-generation matchmaker and the president of one of the world's most elite dating services - the Millionaire's Club - I've put myself in the enviable position of being friend, confidante, and relationship counselor to men and women the world over. I know what the good guys want in a wife, and what sends them screaming into the night. Now I'm sharing their secrets with you.

"I've compiled my best tried-and-true advice and I'm going to tell you the things that even your best friend doesn't have the courage to break to you. If you follow my formula, the man of your dreams will appear in your life, and you can be in a committed, monogamous relationship with him in less than a year. Get ready - I'm about to show you how to make all your relationship dreams come true."

Comes off as manipulative

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This audiobook comes off as 'How to Manipulate a Guy into Having a Relationship with You.' There are a few good points but again the overall TONE is manipulation. I was open about Patti but after listening I question her validity on how to have an honest, open, and loving relationship with a significant other. It's like she doesn't get it. There's a MUCH better book out there it's this one - It's Just a F***ing Date, by Greg Behrendt and Amiira Ruotola. It's also on audible, and unlike Patti, it's apparent these two have learned lessons from the trenches and are in a committed and successful marriage. They are in love. Is that what you want? - Consider that other book then. In all fairness, Patti does actually perform the audiobook version remarkably well, which is a bit of a rarity for authors.

Not so sure

This is a lighthearted listen that I would take with a grain of salt. Readers/listeners please note Patti Stanger’s ideas about love are based from a white woman’s perspective- and this is coming from a white woman. Almost every woman she makes mention of in this book in regards to beauty is white. In my personal opinion, I’d rather follow a more universal and inclusive philosophy of love rather than one aimed specifically at white women.

BEWARE The Title is misleading

Any additional comments?

I was disappointed in a positive way. The title made me think the book would be more gender neutral. I like Patti (Author) so don't want this to sound to negative. This book was written by a woman for women. FEMALES: If you are looking for a book that tells you step by step how to go from meeting a man to marriage, this is book is well written with lots of stories. MEN: Patti knows what she is talking about, for both men and women. The book is worth the read/listen to. Especially if you want to know that the other side is being taught. As a man I did get some ahha's, but had to pay attention because it was all aimed toward the female... Hope this helps.

Misogynistic Garbage

The only redeeming part of this book was her own story. I wish she made this book more about her background, trials, and triumphs instead of "how to get a husband". Most of the book should have been titled "how to forget everything you've ever known about your likes and dislikes, and instead create an entire false persona to become what men want". As a woman this book was incredibly insulting.

Best advice yet

Clear, concise, executable; none sense free and you know what? I met THREE guys the first day I listened to the book after leaving the gym and heading to lunch. Seems to work!
