Publisher's Summary

Once upon a time there was a beautiful college student...

Erin cleans Mr. Morris's house twice a week to pay her tuition. The reclusive ex-soldier intimidates her, but she can't help but feel sympathy for him. Then she walks in on him touching himself, and she has much darker, much more sensual feelings.

And a beastly professor with scars he can't hide...

Blake Morris knows he's scarred both inside and out. He's reclusive and surly. Nowhere near good enough for the smart and beautiful young woman who cleans his house.

He receives an offer to return to his alma mater as an associate professor. This is his chance to reenter the world - and to be worthy of the woman he dreams about. He never expected to see her sitting in his classroom on the first day of the semester.

Author's Note: This book was previously published as a serial in multiple parts, including Beauty Touched the Beast, Beneath the Beauty, and Broken Beauty. They've been collected into this volume and revised for new listeners.

Beauty and The Professor is the first book in A Modern Fairy Tale duet.

This book WILL melt your kindle

This book starts out hot and heavy. There is no foreplay, they just get right to business. It is not until a few chapters in that the characters are described Once that description begins, there is no way to out down this book. Blake is so hard to like at first, but once his back story unfolds, you cannot help but to fall in love with him. Erin is sweet and just trying to work her way through school. She does not want any hand outs or favors. I like her strong personality. This story really fills with drama when an ex-girlfriend returns. There is not many winks at the original story, but Beauty and the Professor has a life of its own. It is a great story with an ending that will leave you needing more.

Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola narrate this story. Mr. Dexter is an amazing Blake. He completely brings Blake to life exactly as I imagined him. Mr. Dexter is able to narrate Erin with the same enthusiam. Those hot scenes were even hotter with his narration! No matter what Lia Langola narrates, it is amazing. Ms Langola does not disappoint in this story. Lia narrates Erin exactly as I imagined her. Ms Langola brings out her determination and strength. Ms Langola's sultry voice is perfect for Blake I really enjoyed the duet narration. The narration enhanced the experience of the story.

Bad Narratives

if you're going to write a book with both male and female narrators then keep the female only narrating the female voice and the male only doing the male voice....

Very hot and lots of drama

This audiobook is beautifully written and narrated, but it is not quite my style. I really enjoyed parts of the book, but the high number of sex scenes and the intensity of the New Adult type of drama were too much for my preference. I prefer between one and five bedroom scenes per book, but this one seemed like it had over a dozen, in a 5.5-hour audiobook! About halfway through, I just started skipping the sex scenes because I was getting bored with how Erin and Blake hit the bedroom every 24 hours or less. Also, there was too much relationship drama for me. I am not a New Adult fan, and I did not realize that this duet series fell squarely into that category. I prefer that if the emotions are constantly up and down like in this book, then it should be balanced with a bunch of humor. However, this is an emotional rollercoaster with basically no humor.

I loved many things about the storyline. First, I did love how Erin and Blake started their sexual relationship. It was a very hot first few chapters! Holey moly! Secondly, I like the elements which made the book into a modern Beauty and the Beast tale. Blake was scarred by an IED attack while on a tour of duty as a Marine. He is a highly intelligent man who had been previously headed toward a career in politics like his father, but instead became a recluse. Erin is a poor but beautiful and smart graduate student cleaning houses part time. Next, I really liked how the author correctly portrayed the structure, atmosphere, and classes of a graduate program. I was impressed with the suitably intellectual nature of a graduate class's discussion material. Finally, I liked Erin and Blake. They are basically good people, and the author is very good at showing the reader the pair's thoughts and feelings. In addition, their different but equally strong insecurities made these two an ironically good match.

The duet narration by Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola was excellent. The male and female narrators were enthusiastic, skilled, and committed to their work. They were both great at pacing, emoting, and sex scenes. My only tiny criticism is that Stephen Dexter did not get the heroine’s voice quite right.

I received a free audiobook copy via Audiobook Obsession, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Lazy, Lazy Lazy

The writing here was EXTRA Lazy! Its like I was dropped right in the middle of a relationship, just so the author could skip the budding relationship parts.

I could have liked these characters if there had been more that like 5 pages before they "couldn't take it anymore" and had sex...then proceeded to have sex every 10 minutes for the rest of the book.

Retelling of a fairytale done right

This is by far the best retelling of Beauty And The Beast I’ve heard in a very long time.

It’s dirty, it’s forbidden, it’s additive from minute one. I’m only upset that college wasn’t like this for me. The thing about Skye Warren is with her writing style she can take a story you know and still knock you on your butt. I’ll just be over here white knuckling my wait til the next book.

I would recommend this to fans of fairytales, erotic fiction, hot professors, people that already know Skye Warren is the Queen and people that still need to meet her writing.

Ends in a cliffhanger

Unless you plan on paying for two audible books because this ends abruptly on a break-up and continues on in the next book, don’t bother.

The book was better

I read this book first and enjoyed it. First the theme was something I enjoy. I had a hard time with the male narration. I think if it was different I would have enjoyed it more. The female voice for Erin was great. Overall the story was something o would recommend as a book only

It was OK

And the plot is intriguing enough, and is actually quite sexy. The sex scenes are hot and delicious. It was just a little too sappy for me, and whoever narrated the guy, his voice was super sexy, and I appreciate his passion getting into the story, but sometimes it was just so intense it felt like he was yelling at me, it made me giggle and took me out of it.

My Thoughts on Beauty and the Professor

Finishing the story I was hit by a few things at once. Number one was that I remember now why I hate duets when both parts aren't out. Of course I don't really "hate" them, I just honestly think if I had to wait for book two after the ending to this story I might have gone crazy.

But that leads me to another thing that hit me. Skye Warren is a fantastic author. The words she crafted in this story absolutely drew me in, and had me hanging on every word. I was so completely wrapped up in these characters, and the more I learned about them the more I loved them. I feel like this book kind of gave me everything and of course I appreciated and loved the nod to the classic fairytale. But there was obviously romance and so much passion in the story. There were two amazing leading characters and a couple of pretty decent secondary characters. There was just this great storyline to have me completely hooked and not wanting to put the story down.

And then there was that darn ending. The kind of ending that has your jaw on the floor, you want to throw whatever device you're reading/listening on and at the same time your mind ia blown by just how much you actually loved the story.

I also can't say enough about the narrators for this story Lia Langola has been a favorite of mine for a while and I never hesitate to listen to a new story that she's narrating. Stephen Dexter is a newer narrator to me but I definitely intend to listen to more. He was like the perfect Beast/Professor in this story for me. I felt like his voice was exactly what I would have imagined the Beast to sound like in any retelling of Beauty and the Beast. And I'm just amazed at how perfectly suited he was. Now I am off to start book two because I absolutely need to know how this fantastic story ends.

Enthralling fairytale retelling with a darker side

I love Fairy Tales retelling, and Skye Warren has written an amazing one here. This duet is the story of Erin and Blake, such an amazing twist to Beauty and the Beast, with a strong female character and a Beast that as in the military. Two complicated souls, this book will captivate you, the cliffhanger was expected as it's a duet. The audiobook was narrated by Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola, I liked the way they worked together in this story, they definitely know their jobs and how to portray each character, the editing was good. I would recommend it.

Erotic Modern Day Fairy Tale

Beauty and The Professor by Skye Warren is a modern day fairy tale that I listened to on audio narrated by Stephen Dexter and Lia Langola. This is the first book in the A Modern Fairy Tale Duet Series.

Skye did a great job on this Beauty and the Beast re-telling with a modern day twist. I would definitely classify that as an erotic romance due to the many sex scenes. I really enjoyed the relationship between Erin and Blake. The book does end on a cliffhanger but that wasn’t a surprise since it’s the first book in the duet series. I can’t wait to dive into book two Falling for the Beast.

Stephen and Lia did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like modern day fairytales, erotic romances, or age gap romances.

This book was... Strange. I really like Skye Warren but this is so different from what I read from her. The characters lack depth, it's a huge insta-love, the plot is thin. It's more erotica than anything else. The narrators did a good job bringing the characters to life. It's my first time listening to Stephen Dexter and his voice is really beautiful and deep.

Great Story with Steamy Romance

If the beginning of this book doesn't set up what type of book to expect, then you will have no idea what your getting into. In reality there is a whole bunch of steamy romance scenes throughout the book. But what I think the author does great is also introduce a fantastic story. I really enjoyed the way the story progressed outside of their relationship. While I do think the whole "beast" part was a little stretched, because he definitely did not have a temper, it was a good twist on the fairytale aspect. Each twist to the story was done very well and the pacing was outstanding.

I honestly enjoyed both characters. I'm glad we got both point of views or the story wouldn't have flowed as well. Erin had such a great personality and I liked how even though she seemed innocent, you find out really quickly she is not. What I liked most about her character was how hard she worked. It was great seeing her succeed and her character really wanted me to see her finally graduate. Blake's character was also really well done. His reactions to certain scenario's seemed so realistic after everything he has been through. After him and Erin get together, you want them to succeed so much. I loved reading how Erin affected him and really taught him how to live again.

Overall, Beauty and the Professor was a fantastic story. While there are some very heavy romance scenes, there is a whole story beyond that. Everything flowed together so nicely and it was enjoyable to see them try to work everything out. Erin and Blake are truly a couple you want to succeed despite all of the troubles they have to go through.

Audio Review - Note the narration does not affect my rating of the book

This narration was fantastic. I absolutely loved listening to it. The dual narration was a perfect choice to portray both points of views. They complimented each other very well. This is definitely an audio I would recommend!

3,5 ⭐️

The story was ok, not that much depth in the love story between the characters, so didn’t really have that many feels, but it was still a nice read. Even though the ending is a cliffhanger, I don’t feel the need to know what happens right away, I’ll probably read it after I’m done with my to-read list.
The narrators were ok, I liked both of their voices, but they did speak a bit overly dramatic every now and again. That made, especially the sex scenes sound a bit awkward at times.

Hot and Steamy!!!

This book had a large amount of steam but it also takes you on an emotional roller coaster. The characters had amazing chemistry! I love Skye Warrens's writing style it really pulls you in and keeps you locked in until the end and that ending was not my favorite. The narrators brought this book to life! 🎧AudiobookObsession

Beauty and the Professor

This was just an ok read/listen. I liked the characters well enough and the story had good potential but the plot kind of fell apart. It seemed to be more sex than story.
The narrators did a good job with the characters and story.

Not my tea

Although this book was sexy and well written, it just wasn’t my cup of tea, I like books with sexual tension, a build up to the big show, this book was straight up wham bam thank you mam, the narrators were great but this book wasn’t for me
