This is a good story and great addition to the "Fated Over Forty" series. The story is about bear shifter Tyler and Liz, a human. He is desperate to help his sister in law and seeks Liz's help. She was a mid-wife until her divorce and turned to healing. When she takes over to help she is needless to say shocked to see a non-baby delivered. This is an interesting and intriguing story. I love the interactions between the characters. The story is nicely developed with some suspense, surprises, distress and much more.

Tyler & Liz

The first book in the Shifter Nation: Fated Over Forty series. Tyler a bear shifter and human midwife Liz's story of secrets, drama, suspense, steamy, twists, turns, and romance. I enjoyed listening to their story and want to listen to more in this series. The Narrator did a very good job to the story, I enjoyed listening to his voice.

Great Series Starter

Meg Ripley has provided us with endearing characters that will keep you entertained from start to finish while D.C. Cole was able to breath life into this story and bring the characters to life making this as fun to listen to as it was to read.

Steamy Shifter Romance

I enjoyed this steamy shifter story very much. The writing was captivating. This is a page turner story, you won't put it down until you finish it. This story had many twists and turns in it. This audio will hold your attention so definitely be listening to it when do nothing that requires attention.

Loved the performance as much as the story!

"My job is mostly just standing around and waiting for emergencies or for someone to need me."

Tyler rushes in to Liz's life, needing her midwife skills and help, never imagining the events her kind heart and willingness to help others would set in motion.

This done in one story embraces independence and self-reliance, but comes with a reminder not only that there is strength in numbers, but others can see things we can't, and can help us see things in another way.

I love the theme of healing in this story, and was intrigued by the use of Reiki.

Awesome

This book grabs you from the very beginning, and keeps you glued to those pages till the end. I thought Liz was so amazing with all she did, delivering babies, helping those get over their pain. Tyler is the best bodyguard you’d ever want around. I loved the twists, surprises, passion, and intrigue. Such an amazing story, loved how it flowed from page to page, never a dull moment. I loved the narrator he made it feel as if you were there with the characters.

Finding His Mate . . .

Liz used to be a midwife who changed her career to be a Reiki energy healer. A man pounds on her back door in a panic, needing help for his sister-in-law who is having problems delivering her baby. As a healer, Liz will not refuse help and goes with him, a bit alarmed about his warning to never tell what she sees. What does he mean by that? But as the baby is born, she sees a bear cub who shifts into a human!

The bear shifter clan does not trust humans, and some of them want to kill her to protect their secret. The Alpha assigns Tyler to guard her and keep her safe. Although both of them were attracted to each other, Tyler seems to want to ignore the probability that they are mates. Can he keep her safe when attempts are made on her life? Will he allow her to help him with her Reiki skills? And is Liz ready to fall in love with a bear shifter? The narrator for the audiobook version is D.C. Cole. He does a great job with all of the voices to personalize the story and make it easy for the listener to get an accurate impression of what each character is like. It helps to set the mood, familiarize the characters, bring the story “alive”, and is a relaxing way to “read” and enjoy the book.

I liked it!

This is the first book in the Shifter Nation: Fated Over Forty Series. I loved it! Liz and Tyler's story is entertaining, and passionate. The characters are interesting and well developed. The storyline and the world building are intriguing. DC Cole is one of my favorite narrators! I like his voice! He did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Great Story & Listen🎧 Fascinating & Heartwarming!

I enjoyed this book immensely, the story hooked me in right away, grabbing my attention and captivating it straight to the end. Liz moved to the quiet countryside, she was getting away from midwifing and focusing on healing, so when a stranger comes banging on her door she had no choice but to answer it. Tyler's urgency is for his sister-in-law, who is having a problem giving birth to her child. Liz agrees to help her and she is astonished at what she saw, a woman gave birth to a bear. The clan has strict laws about letting outsiders know about them, but Tyler trusted her and told the others they could, too. Tyler works as a bodyguard so his visit home is short, and his brother Carlton, the alpha, reminds him he is the beta and he needs to spend more time at home, but he has his reasons for wanting to be away. When Carlton catches wind that Liz is in danger because some shifters are not happy she knows of their existence, so he asks Tyler to guard her. The two spend time together and the chemistry between them is undeniable and there is more of a connection, she is his fated mate. But he lets his own inner demons get the best of him and he pushes her away. He thought the threat against her was over, but there is a power play going on and some shifters are planning a coup. This is a fascinating and cleverly plotted paranormal shift romance and I loved the originality of the story, all its layers and how it all plays out., the world building is great too.  Meg Ripley, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
