Publisher's Summary

Billy Winston’s family is going to see him happy and in love, if it’s the last thing they do.

No one deserves a "happily ever after" quite as much as the second oldest Winston brother and his lady love Claire McClure (a.k.a. Scarlet St. Claire). Cruelty and circumstance tore them apart almost 20 years ago. Secrecy and bitterness kept them separated.

But do you know who's tired of their separation and stubbornness? Everyone. Especially Billy Winston’s family. And now, they're going to do something about it.

Well-meaning interference means the star-crossed lovers can’t stop tripping over each other in the hills of Tuscany, the catacombs of Rome, and the waterways of Venice. Billy and Claire find themselves thrown together and at the mercy of the Winston siblings’ shenanigans.

But will their forced proximity bring them together or push them even further apart?

This second-chance romance brings back the entire Winston gang playing cupid in one last story of love, hijinks, and family collusion.

Beard Necessities is a full-length contemporary romantic comedy, and can be listened to as a stand-alone, but it’s probably best to listen to it after the previous books in the Winston Brothers series.

Loved it more than Cletus loves his sausage.

I second all the good reviews of this final book and of the entire series. So satisfying and, while I am genuinely sad it’s over, I’m also looking forward to listening to all the books again in the future. This is a series that will stay funny and fantastic for years to come.

Now to go nurse my book hangover...somehow.

❤️📚Love this series!📚❤️

I love this series, especially the narration by Chris Brinkley and the various female narrators, but I have to ask, what is up with the “Sneak Peek” being the same on each book? 🤔

***SPOILER ALERT*** This book was amazing

So grateful that Penny didn't make us work too hard/worry too much throughout this book for the happy ending Billy and Scarlette so richly deserved. Book six was heartbreaking and it was tough waiting for this one to be released, but it was so worth the wait. I loved the epilogue most of all because we get a glimpse into the lives of all the siblings.

In her author's note Penny talks about missing having the Winston boys in her life and I get that! These characters feel like family. Chris and Joy brought these stories to life for me - they are incredible narrators!

Amazing ending for the series.

I listened to this whole series in about a week or two. 7 books. If you start it may I suggest book 6 first. Then follow with 1-5 & then 7. I listened 1-7 and would have listened to them that way, had I known.

Hung over. Send help

Talk about book hangover. Oh my word, after over 82 hours of country sass in my ears, my brain has devoured and absorbed all things Winston. I don’t even know what to do with my life or how to reintegrate back into my family. I just wander around thinking big happy complicated families and bananas making jens cake moist. What do I do? Is it wrong to just start the series over again bc my day doesn’t sound right without sausage jokes in my ear?

In other words, Do yourself a favor and read the whole series.

Exceptional

This is the second time I have listened to thus book as well as this series. Penny Reid is a fantastic story teller. The narrators helped bring this book as well as all the books alive. I highly recommend this book, but you will want to start at the beginning. These boys have a story to tell.

Billy and Claire -

Billy Winston and his first and only love Claire McClure (a.k.a. Scarlet St. Claire) are still struggling to be together ....now as adults. It's been 20 years and there are so many secrets, so much pride, so stubborn yet both scared and scared from their pasts and both still lonely....that is until the meddling Cletus decides to run interference.

What's not to Love

Love every book from Penny Reed. I'm sad to have finished this series. Every character is brilliantly unique and with their own personal challenges and gifts. I come from a very large close family. It's so wonderful to see everyone works together in staying close and recognizes that we all take different personalities as adding and improving the family dynamics if you love your family unconditionally ❤

Sad to see this series end.

This book is only for those who have read and loved the rest of the series. It involves many characters from past books and is really part 2 of Book 6, which was the prologue for this book.

The romance between Claire (Scarlett) and Billy has been a theme running in the background of all previous books and it was lovely to see a happy conclusion to their relationship. That said, I did think the plot was a bit weak. Claire had been in a long, fairly unhappy marriage, due to a feeling of debt to her husband. However that debt was actually owed to Billy and it was his decision to keep this a secret that trapped her in a unhappy marriage for ten years. An important part of their relationship, in the time span between the two books, added to the confusion and left me with more questions that answers as to why they did not manage a frank and honest discussion when they met up on regular occasions before her marriage.

However I did enjoy the conclusion to the series and although I can only recommend it to those familar with previous books in the series, it was nice to catch up with the couples from previous books.

Good

I enjoyed this, but it wasn’t as good as the prequel book. I look forward to Penny Reid’s next release.

A whole lot of hilarious mayhem

To start this review I need to start where it all begins. The Winston Brothers book 1, Truth or Beard. Once you read this you’ll not stop until you end the journey on Beard Necessities. The Winston brothers will all charm and capture you into their world of hilarious high jinx and family love and commitment. You’ll no doubt fall in love with each and every member of this special family but don’t let Cletus know that you love them all equally and that his suggested enormous thick tasty sausage should tip the scales his way.
Penny Reid, can tell a tale like no other and this series will have you wanting more and lucky for us you’ll find plenty more options to choose from with her other published books.
The audio versions of all books in the series are fantastic and the narrators (Chris Brinkley, Joy Nash, Chloe Miller, Angela Dawe, have certainly played a tremendous part in the visual aspects when listening.
Now if you haven’t ready taken the first step into the world of the Winston Brothers, well there’s no time like the present to do so.

Thank GOD!!

I have soooo loved this series! Those Winston boys have captured (and melted) my heart since their introduction in the 'Knitting in the City' series.

But Billy! Billy! I just have no words! He's at a whole different level. So tragic... so honourable... so protective & loving... so goddam amazing. He stole my heart from the beginning (my hubby should be worried!!).

Thank God he finally had his happy ending... and Claire as well. One couldn't happen without the other after all.

Thank you, Penny! 🥰

The Winston Brothers Book 7

Loved this book. Billy and Scarlet finally got their story. I loved the ups and downs just like real life and how the Winston crew finished up. Great finish for the series.
