This Story Is Seductive

Publisher's Summary

Wade Marshall, super producer to one of hip hop's brightest stars, was supposed to spend the summer on Black Diamond getting away from the rush of Brooklyn, ridding himself of the distractions that had been affecting his work so he can do what he does best - make beats. But the day he meets Ameenah, he becomes consumed by an entirely different and more attractive distraction - his bold, beautiful, sexy neighbor with the' glorious hips' and a penchant for ice cream.

Ameenah Porter, daughter of successful New York restauranteurs, moves to the beach town of Black Diamond to fulfill her dream of opening a smoothie shop. She doesn't need the distraction of a new man but the tall, dark and handsome Wade, staying in the giant-sized home at the end of her block, is irresistible.

Ameenah's days at Tikis & Cream are spent cooling off her customers with her gourmet smoothie blends. Her nights on the shores of Black Diamond Bay are enchanting and romantic, and soon Wade and Ameenah find themselves in the middle of a Beach Thing... a fun, meaningless tryst that will end when the summer is over.

Or will it? Wade is returning to Brooklyn at the end of the summer. Ameenah lives on Black Diamond. Neither want this Beach Thing to end... so is this fling really a fling or is it the beginning of something real... and will they realize it in time?

Indulge in a fun, steamy #beachyblackromance on Black Diamond.

Excellent read

Funny, well written and witty characters that play nicely off of one another. The only problem is the editing. There are at least five times when the audio repeats the lines over and it is clearly not intended to be so. Please fix this so that future listeners can enjoy without the distraction.

Good Listen

Good book aside from the repetition of the narrator at certain points throughout the book.

Short and sweet

This was a really good book from start to finish. The narrator did a good job and didn't over do it on the male voices(a bonus in my opinion). Short, sweet and to the point.

It's a fast listen. So sexy

I loved this sizzling story. White knows how to wrap you into the characters and wanting for more and I love the narrator. I think I have listened to everything in the audio catalog.

Grown Folks Business

Ameenah is an entrepreneur and Wade is a music producer. What starts as a well planned out, intentional fling turns into a satisfying, drama-free love relationship. These two characters are easy to love and respect. They don't come off as exaggerated or phony. They are relatable to professional people over 30. I found myself rooting for them throughout the read. They have their own individual challenges that they are able to deal with without encroaching too much into the other's privacy. I loved that aspect of the book.
The performance is good with appropriate dialects. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a short adult romance.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review of my honest opinion.

Light hearted

Something light, there stakes aren't very high but the characters were fun and i was able to get through the plot easy enough. Plot wasn't great but characters made up for it.

Love it!

It made me smile. I wish it had been longer. I would have liked to have heard more about Ameenah adjusting to life as Wade's woman and their cohabitation, but I guess the goal is to keep people wanting more. This book did just that.

👍

I liked the narrator's voice. The read was smooth although the story repeated itself in a few sections. The story was cute, short, and straight to the point. Not too bad😊
