Christmas in Sweetgrass Springs!

Listening to this audiobook was an absolute delight! What could be better than great characters, both new and beloved, the spirit of the Christmas season and the character of Sweetgrass Springs itself that surrounded me with the small town southern charm that has become synonymous with author Jean Brashear? Eric G. Dove is a talented narrator with a sexy southern drawl that I found to be enticing and addictive. While I always enjoy Jean's books I feel the audiobooks make the characters come alive in a whole new way. I highly recommend this wonderful series.

Enjoyed the Narration, Loved the story

This was such a sweet story. The narrator we do good that you could tell which character it was by his voice. I have listened to audio books that don't come close to that quality. It is one of the reasons I stopped.

With Be Mine for Christmas, I will definitely be going back to audio. I could listen while I cooked, decorated the tree, etc.

Gib and Dulcie's story was filled with so much emotion. The sacrifices Dulcie made for her kids, and Gib's willingness to step in when she needed him, just touched your heart. Also Knowing that neither of them ever stopped loving the other took the romance factor over the top. Even Dulcie's secret was a blip on the radar.

In this story, you also got to revisit so many
Sweetwater characters. And the icing on the cake was that all of this occurred during the Christmas season.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this Audiobook.

Sweet Romance

If you could sum up Be Mine This Christmas in three words, what would they be?

Does not disappoint!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dulce

Have you listened to any of Eric G. Dove’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Excellent narrator

Any additional comments?

I have enjoyed reading some of the Texas Heroes Series. This installment, "Texas Heroes, Book 22" does not disappoint! I loved listening to the audible! It was great. While listening to the story about Dulcie and Gib, I felt I was there the whole time. I could visualize Dulce children, the sorrows and joys, and the sweetest romance grow between Gib and Dulcie. I can't wait to listen to another book! Excellent storyline and character development. It was thoroughly a privilege to have listened to the audible.

Wonderful book

Would you listen to Be Mine This Christmas again? Why?

Yes. I am starting this series over from the beginning. I've missed everybody. I came to love the characters in the town.

Any additional comments?

I loved this book. Dulcie made a sacrifice years ago so Gib could fulfill his dream. When Gib sees her again he realizes he still loves her. I fell in love with the kids. Eric Dove did a wonderful job on the audio book. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to tell who was speaking in the story but Eric had that covered with different voices. Reading, and listening to, Jean Brashear's books always leave me feeling very warm and happy.

Sweet Story

I enjoyed this short story by Jean Brashear. I usually read her books. Listening to this audio format was a treat. She's an excellent writer. This has been the shortest audio I've listened to thus far. I wanted more! :)

BE MINE THIS CHRISTMAS was Gib and Dulcie's sweet story. I wanted to strangle both of them at times, but loved the conclusion very much! They were the main storyline although many characters from the series were included. I want to go back to the beginning and start the series again so that everyone is clear in my head.

Eric Dove did an excellent job as narrator. Very skilled doing both male and female voices.

I'm sure I'll listen to this again.

A new Christmas tradition

I normally listen to Christmas music or watch Christmas movies while decorating for the holidays. This year I tried listening to Be Mine This Christmas via Audible and loved it. A nice side benefit is that the house has more decorations this year than any prior! I have been a loyal follower of the Texas Heroes series and this was another sweet installment and I loved listening to it while I worked.

Enchanting!

This is an enchanting, heartwarming story. It will make you cry, laugh and cheer. It was much more than just a Christmas story, it was a true romance and lovely story about how special love can be, while having to deal with conceived betrayal, secrets, sacrifice and forgiveness. A story you can listen to anytime of the year. Gib is a swoon worthy hero that will melt your heart and make you want to take him in your arms for a big hug! Dulcie is sweet, caring and selfless, and her strength and deep love for Gib has you wanting to comfort her and want her to have her HEA. I really enjoyed this story and would recommend this book to anyone. It was also nice catching up on some of the other Sweetgrass Springs characters. Eric Dove has such a knack with voices and brings the story to life adding another level of enjoyment to the story.

Just OK for me..

This story has been told a thousand times. The story about the boy and girl who parted and she was pregnant and didn’t tell him for years, until they came together 14 years later. They still love each other but Gib was still mad at her because she broke his heart and Dulcie wanted him to stay away because she was afraid he’d see that Torie was his. Cute but you can only retell this story so many times. And after 10 books about this town and family I think I’m done with them. It was entertaining novella but still...

Since I read the first book I’ve probably read hundreds of other authors so I can’t remember any of the couples like I should. I read the first Gallagher book in June of 2012 and since then I’ve read over 1500 books so, no, I don’t recall that book or the characters either. Time to put Ruby, Arnie, Scarlet, Jackson, Rissa, Boone, Maddie, and all the others to rest. It’s just too ridiculous to think someone will remember characters from book one when you mention them in book 20 or 25 or 30. But, that’s just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

There was no sex and one kiss at the end of the book.

As to the narrator: Eric Dove is one of my favorite narrators. He does an excellent job of giving the women their own distinct voice, as well as the men, and reads with great emotion.

Wow

I thought they got together quickly, but when you think of their history and both of them loving each other forever there was only the details to work out. This was a lovely quick read into the town of Sweetgrass.
Narrator was awesome as always.
