Publisher's summary

The movie star meets his match….

Pierce

Welcome to Hollywood, baby! Perhaps you’ve heard of me. I play Baxter, the adventure-seeking, crime-fighting hero, adored by fans around the world. Nice gig, right? My job has its perks for sure—private jets, a chauffeur, and the best tables at the fanciest restaurants in town. It’s nuts!

Downside—it’s hard to know who you can trust.

But I trust Lorenzo. He’s funny, sweet, and very real.

Look, I’m not in the market for anything serious. Between my greedy brother and the old man who claims we’re related, I’m a little wary, but I could use a friend.

And a sexy distraction.

Lorenzo

What is happening here? Major movie star, Pierce Allen wants me.

Me!

I don’t get it. I’m too fabulous and he’s too famous.

No, wait. He wants something from me, like my help and maybe my body. This should be a no-brainer. However, closing the last chapter on a long-term relationship has left me feeling a little fragile, and the last thing I need is to risk another broken heart.

But I’m too intrigued to walk away. I can play the part of Pierce’s “right-hand man” and keep things light and friendly. No problem.

I’m way too smart to fall for a movie star.

I hope.

Baxter’s Right-Hand Man is a MM, bisexual romance featuring a sexy, slightly egotistical movie star and the adorable diva who brings him back to reality.

Cute, sassy.

These two made a cute couple. Pierce played a debonair character but he wasn’t a whole lot like the character he played. Hooking up with anyone and not caring. Lorenzo is a sweet cinnamon roll who has a big heart even though he has been burned by his last boyfriend. They meet by chance because of circumstance of an elder gentleman who states he related to Pierce. The bump heads in the beginning but they slowly start bumping other things later. There a little drama with family and fans but all is good with them.

Pierce and Lo are really sweet together.

When I read this book with my eyes I said: “The only thing that could make me love this story more is to listen to it when it comes out as an audiobook.” I got my wish and I loved listening to Nick J. Russo perform this story. I really can’t add anything more to my original review so I’m showing parts of it below.

I thought this was a really sweet love story, albeit with hot AF sexy time. Lorenzo (Lo) was still kind of getting over the breakup of a long-term relationship even though it happened two years ago and Pierce was getting tired of having to deal with so much of the stuff related to being a celebrity. They were two kind of lost souls who ended up needing each other more than they ever anticipated

Lane Hayes descriptive writing always keeps me captivated. The way she described the four different homes in this story – Lorenzo’s apartment, Pierce’s huge home, Mr. G’s house and his cottage in Carmel – allowed me to see them clearly in my mind and made me want to visit them.

There wasn’t anything I didn’t love about this book. You don’t have to have read The Real Baxter to enjoy this one but that is also a great story so I recommend checking it out.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request; my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

Absolutely Wonderful!

Audiobook review...

Narrated by Nick J Russo who delivered a wonderful narration that bought the book to life.
Written by Lane Hayes who wrote the awesome words.

The characters Lorenzo and Pierce were awe-inspiring I honestly love everything about them.
Both men are in their thirties and mature men that I much prefer to read about.
Lorenzo is out and proud, and Pierce is bi but extremely cautious.

Meeting by chance they established a connection but they date secretly so as not to produce rumours, rumours that could spoil Pierce’s acting career...

A wonderful storyline was added with awesome side characters that are extremely engaging.

Highly recommended.

Five stars for this gem!

Amazing!

Gahh Pierce and Lorenzo were so perfect together!!! It was beautiful to see Pierce finally opening up and being 100% authentic thanks to Lo, and Lo opening his heart again and trusting he was enough. Loved loved loved it. Jasper was also an amazing secondary character. This was such a feel good story.

Outstanding!

5 Stars!

I absolutely loved Lo and Pierce! They were amazing. Pierce was so down-to-earth for a movie star, and Lo was so sassy and sweet. Their chemistry was out of this world and they were so hot together, but above all, I just loved that Pierce could be himself with Lo and how perfect they were for each other.

I adored Jasper, too, even if it was heartbreaking that his illness progressed so fast. I hated Pierce's brother, and I'm pretty sure I'd hate his father, too.

Nick J. Russo's narration was spot on, as always. His voice is so pleasant and I appreciated that when Lo talked in Spanish, Nick did so flawlessly. He brought Pierce and Lorenzo to life for me and I just adored listening to this book.

Lane Hayes did a fantastic job with Lorenzo and Pierce's story and Nick J. Russo made it even more special with his voice. Highly recommended!

Loved it!

This audiobook was sooo good! The story was well written and Nick J. Russo was the perfect choice as the narrator. Pierce starts off appearing to be quite the manchild who gets himself into hot water with Seb after a night of excessive drinking lands him in the tabloids and he is forced to clean up his act. Enter an older man who out of nowhere reports to be his cousin and Lo, a friend of his, is there for their initial meeting. Pierce, who is long jaded by his time in Hollywood, immediately makes a poor impression on Lo, accusing him of having ulterior motives and being a user. Lo is very protective of Jasper and does not take kindly to his accusations. Thankfully they make amends quickly and they grow closer as Pierce finds himself spending more time with Jasper.

Pierce and Lo are so seriously so cute together and I found myself cheering for them the whole time and Daphne really needs to buy a clue because she was super annoying.

Lane Hayes and Nick J Russo

What a delightful book. I enjoyed every second of it. Lane Hayes has always been one of my favorite authors and Nick J Russo is an excellent narrator. Enjoyed listening from the beginning. Definitely a five star for me.

Mixed Feelings on this one

This story was not bad but def not great
For me it didn’t seem to have a strong pull that a really great story will have you so very connected to the characters and you find yourself rooting for their love to win
I like a story that makes me sad when it ends because I’m so invested in these characters
This just doesn’t happen here.
Yes I liked both Pierce & Lo but wanted a bit more
Nick is just AMAZING in his narration of all the characters, he is my ultimate fav and the reason why I found this book
Overall an ok read even with Nicks awesome contribution
