Publisher's summary

I sit amongst the presidents, royalty, the captains of industry, and the wealthiest f--ks in the world.

We own Spiked Roses - an exclusive, membership-only establishment in New Orleans where money or lineage is the only way in. It is for the gentlemen who own everything and never hear the word no.

Sipping on whiskey, smoking cigars, and conducting multi-million dollar deals in our own personal playground of indulgence, there isn’t anything I can’t have...and that includes her. I can also have her if I want.

And I want.

Bastards & Whiskey is a dark billionaire romance. If you don’t like a sprinkle of shock, a dash of taboo, and a heavy dose of sex, then don’t take a sip of this Top Shelf cocktail.

If you like JA Huss, you'll like Alta Hensley!

Muy caliente with an awesome twist on a "rescue". If you have previously enjoyed Sawyer Bennett's Wicked Horse Series or JA Huss' The Turning Point Club Series, then dig into these books. The main characters start in unpredictable places, and just when you think, Ah, Now boy gets girl, blah, blah, blah, it doesn't happen. It's a very fun and hot ride!

Dark and wild

A provocatively seductive, dark, and wild ride to go on with Anita and Kenneth. Wow! I didn’t want this crazy journey to end.

Absolutely loved to hate!!

This was delicious!!! I loved the double narration! Both narrators brought something to the table and man it was golden! This storyline was so intense in moments that your gut just tightens. Wow! I absolutely loved it! So highly recommend and so can not wait to listen to more of this series!!!

Bastards & Whiskey

Ok I was looking for a good BDSM book. This is not it. I thought it was going to be. Made it half way through the book before I had to stop. A woman ,Eve, that seemed strong a bit Naïve but determined turned into an idiot. She went from woman to a teenager throwing a tantrum. I gave the book ⭐️⭐️⭐️ because of the narrators. I could listen to SP and TH read together. Their voices complement each other. Hope my review helps.

Unlikable Characters, Weak Story

I purchased this book because I love Teddy Hamilton's voice and the way he narrates. I'm not a big fan of Samantha Prescott, I find her too breathy and annoying.

The book started out ok enough to keep me listening. Anita is a woman down on her luck and wanting to help her elderly friend so she starts working at Spiked Roses. I thought it was a bit unrealistic that Kenneth would hire a woman who had no experience whatsoever in his supposedly elite Club, even if it was to start as a Cigar Girl. I found it even more unbelievable that he then let her work in the Tasting Room with one of his most powerful clients then was surprised when she screwed everything up by freaking out, taking the money and running. Well, no sh*t.

I could not get into the book. Both characters seemed very one dimensional and I didn't think there was any chemistry between them. I didn't like either character, honestly. They struck me as shallow, callous and selfish. Anita is always going on about how strong she is, how she will do whatever it takes to break out of the cycle of poverty and how she doesn't put up with any crap, yet she totally sabotaged herself. As soon as she ran off with the money and thought everything would just blow over and be ok made me roll my eyes. And Kenneth just sucks as an owner of such a club that he even hired this woman and allowed her nonsense to happen.

There was no romance or even passion between them. Their sexual relationship start with Kenneth sexually assaulting Anita and then she's into it. GROSS. On so many levels this book is gross. Even when the sexual stuff becomes consensual, they just f*ck. There was no tenderness, no chemistry. They couldn't even have a proper conversation with each other and I don't find that at all sexy.

Later in the book when Anita is returned to the Tasting Room to finish with Kenneth's client the scene made me sick to my stomach. The sexual violence of that scene was crude, graphic and totally unnecessary and I say this as someone who is very open minded.

Overall, I didn't rate this book at all and I will be asking for my credit back.

🤮Stupid🤢😩Stupid💩...

I love Ted Hamilton, so I hung in there but I will be getting my credit back!!!
The story is slow and unnecessary until around chapter 8! And it goes steady downhill from there....so that being said I guess that makes me the most Stupid🤦🏼‍♀️

Teddy hamilton is the only👍🏻

This story makes no sense. The old ladys plight isnt serious enough for anita to sell herself. And when kenneth came to get her all she had to do was give the money back and poof, problems disaapear. 🤷🏻‍♀️overall just a waste, couldve been good
