Publisher's Summary

The Mistborn trilogy has become a firm favourite with fantasy fans the world over. The imagination that Sanderson brought to the series, his skill at marshalling epic storylines and dramatic action and his ability to create vivid characters made him a natural choice to complete Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time sequence.

But with Mistborn, Sanderson has shown his bountiful talents in his own fiction. Now he returns to the series that made his name with a new story, building on the incredible success of The Alloy of Law. The new Mistborn books move the series into a richly imagined 19th-century analogue world with elements of the Wild West mixed with magic and science. It's a wonderful concoction from a master storyteller.

Sanderson has the knack of giving epic fantasy listeners exactly what they want. This ability has thrown him to the forefront of the genre, and this novel will take him to the next level.

Great book superbly narated. Very satisfied.

I've listened to the whole series so far, don' t know where Mr. Sanderson gets it all. Very entertaining though.

Completely satisfying

What a joy to pick up another of Mr Sanderson's books and be completely satisfied!

I love the characters in this story. Steris really comes into her own in this book, while Wayne continues to focus on his hats, and Wax still breaks things in spectacular fashion. I've always found these stories entertaining - there is a very gentle, but consistent thread of humour through it all, and I find myself wearing a little smile as I listen.

It's a satisfying ending to this trilogy, but the ground work has been set for yet more adventure. A word from Brandon Sanderson as an appendix confirms this, and he intends to get to work on it once he's finished the final instalment of the Stormlight series. Looking forward to it!

For Stormlight fans - watch out for Hoid who makes a very brief appearance.

Narration is spot on, as always!

Best of Wax and Wayne

I've been binging on Mistborn recently and while I don't think these books are as good as the original trilogy, I have grown very attached to Wax, Wayne and the rest of the gang. I think this book is certainly the best of their adventures so far and I am very much looking forward to the fourth and final book (nice surprise as I thought this was the last). Keep doing what you do, Mr Sanderson!

Another Wax and Wayne hit

May the combination of Branson Sanderson and Michael kramer never end, without doubt the very best that audible can offer. As for the mistborn series, well it's the Mistborn what more needs saying, other than read them... all

There's always another secret

I need to read the secret histories now. Not want, but need. The story in isolation was brilliant but there are so many questions I now have around the cosmere, the survivor and the whole of Scadrial. Can't wait for the next installment.

Amazing, as always

Brandon is a genius, if only it wasn't so frustrating waiting to read what he comes out with next! Always worth the wait though.

Brandon Has Delivered Another Great Read

Where does Bands of Mourning rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I think close to the top but not quite there

What did you like best about this story?

The ongoing mistborn story expanding into the world

Which scene did you most enjoy?

most of them, the interaction of Wax and Wayne always cheers me up

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The final scenes where everyone comes into their own

Any additional comments?

I thought this wasn't quite as good as previous efforts in this series, I cant put my finger on why, I still enjoyed it though

Wax and Wayne have done it again!

This book left me on the edge of my seat. It was humorous and intense. Once again Wax and Wayne's relationship left me needing more I cant wait for the next edition to this series.

Not what I expected but I liked it

This was not the series I expected to follow the original mistborn books - but I liked it. Very imaginative and quite funny in places. If you liked this series you will probably like the Sandman Slim series by Richard Kadrey.

slow start ... HEAD EXPLOSION ENDING

just when you thought you had the second era of the mistborn series figured out.. BAM new plots and characters out of no where.

just when you thought you knew characters really well.... BAM NOW YOU HAVE A DEEPER CONNECTION to them

just when you thought your dislike for certain characters could be justified BAM YOU NOW LIKE THAT CHARACTER AND WHAT THEY HAVE DONE

and just when you thought wayne was a funny character.. BAM HE GETS EVEN FUNNIER

p.s i am scared of what could happen if the power was in someone elses hands, yet even more afraid of what it could do in my own - Lord Waxilium
