Publisher's Summary

A hilarious and inspiring faith memoir and life guide.

Yvonne Orji has never shied away from being unapologetically herself and that includes being outspoken about her faith. Known for interpreting Biblical stories and metaphors to fit current times, her humorous and accessible approach to faith leaves even non-believers inspired and wanting more. The way Yvonne sees it, God is a Sovereign Prankster, punking folks long before Ashton Kutcher made it cool. When she meditates on her own life - complete with unforeseen blessings and unanticipated roadblocks - she realises it's one big testimony to how God tricked her into living out her wildest dreams. And she wants us to join in on getting bamboozled. This is not a self-help audiobook - it's a Get Yours audiobook!

In Bamboozled by Jesus, a frank and fresh advice audiobook, Orji takes listeners on a journey through 25 life lessons, gleaned from her own experiences and her favourite source of inspiration: the Bible. But this ain't your mama's Bible study. Yvonne infuses wit and heart in sharing pointers like why the way up is sometimes down and how fear is synonymous to food poisoning. Her joyful, confident approach to God will inspire everyone to catapult themselves out of the mundane and into the magnificent.

With bold authenticity and practical relatability, Orji is exactly the kind of cultural leader we need in these chaotic times. And her journey through being Bamboozled by Jesus paints a powerful picture of what it means to say 'yes' to a life you never could've imagined - if it wasn't your own.

I felt the bamboozelment throughout! 🙏

I thoroughly enjoyed the book with a ton of giggles, introspection and the most important, relating to an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. This has been more than a faith Fuel stop! I'm camping, taking a number of notes and implementing. It's a must read if you want to increase your walk with Christ. You are amazing Yvonne thank you for allowing God to use you as a vessel, my faith level as I walk in my purpose has been expanded.

Faith Re-Activated

This book made want to re-look at my own relationship with God, get more personal and intimate with him.

I love that at every turn of Yvonne’s story, God is at the center but it doesn’t feel preachy. It’s inspiring.

A welcome kick up the butt

If you feel called to great things and believe you've been blessed with a life of purpose this is a nice little reminder of how seemingly unrelated actions are often God's means of leading you into that very purpose. As a Christian negotiating the 'sticky' territory that many call Hollyweird, Yvonne's story is definitely one that surprises, encourages, humbles, convicts and at times drops your jaw. More than anything, it inspires the dreamer to dream big ...whilst being sure to get up out of bed, put in the hard graft and 'show up' in order to make those dreams a reality. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. In fact, it was the book I didn't know I needed to read.

Caveat - in terms of her colourful way of referring to faith figures and using pop culture references to illustrate many of her points, this is may not be comfortable reading for those who take issue with hearing Abraham (Father of the Faith) described as an 'F' boy. Yvonne is sure to give reasons for her choice of moniker but I'm pretty sure it will be too much for some ears. Aside from that, you'll be entertained by her delivery and the content I'm sure ...and many times encouraged to let God surprise you with his many 'set ups' for your 'come up'... or the 'bamboozlement' she insists that Jesus specialises in.

I just Knew I'd love this book! Big Up Queen Orji!

I loved the book. Why you ask? Because I could actually hear myself speaking to myself while listening, so much of what Yvonne Orji talked about, shared and experienced resonates with my own life. I have not hit my breakthrough...YET! but after this book I just know more and am more determined to continue to trust in the love, power and guidance of Baba God. Nothing is impossible with God ooo

Nice read

Nice read, it made me want to get more of a relationship with God myself. It did feel like I almost didn’t get to the real meaty part but I suppose there’s only so much you can put into one book. I probably could of gone on for another 6 hours worth of material.

It definitely felt comforting, I won’t lie and I’m sad it’s over so soon and it’s something I will hopefully remember when looking at my own walk.

Thanks Yvonne and well done for honouring God with this book. It’ll hope it’ll be able to bless a lot of people. From a fellow Igbo babe.

The best book I've read this year!

I rarely give books 5/5 but this book took the top spot in my life this year. I loved how Yvonne actually read it as it made it so authentic and relatable. I loved how she uses everyday language to describe her relationship with God. It's amazing how God uses her to chastise the listeners without the holier than thou tone that most 'christian literature ' had whilst, encouraging them to become a better version of themselves. It's a book you can't rush through as you will miss the gems that are packed in here. I would also suggest reading it with a notebook to get the most out of it. I can't recommend this book enough! it's the first book that I will be reading more than once. Wow!!!!!
