Life in the Wind Rivers

Let me be clear: we never attended a Boy Scout meeting nor received a merit patch for a mastered skill. My brother Bobby and I did not have time for such fancies. But our childhood was full of all the necessary components to have a sash full of the colorful rewards. The only problem was that my parents had moved us to Wyoming to hunt and fish their lives away. Dad had settled us in Lander, a small town on the edge of the Wind River Mountain Range. The area was chock full of tastey critters so we were constantly busy. These are a few of the more prominent stories I remember from my youth. In hindsight, having survived my youth with only the loss of a single eye seems improbable. I realized that to let such history fade into oblivion was irresponsible and have recorded it as I remembered it. Anyone who challenges its veracity either wasn't there or has an agenda other than historical preservation!
