Great beginner guide for backyard chickens.

Since my brother started keeping backyard chickens a few years ago, I’ve developed an interest in it myself as well. I’ve seen his chicks and they’re a happy bunch, very talkative too! This audiobook has helped me greatly in learning what it really means to have chickens of your own. I’ll probably want them mostly for the fresh eggs, looking forward to that actually. This is a great guide if you want to learn the basic of backyard chickens keeping.

Excellent beginner guide for raising chickens...

Excellent guide for those that want to start raising backyard chickens. There is some basic information here, but also a ton of info that was new to me. Great tips on how to select the right chicken breed, and if you should buy or build your own coop. I really like the flow of this book. It’s not just a technical overview of what you need to know to raise chickens. Quite the contrary: it’s almost like having a conversation, including a few tongue in cheek jokes. I mean, have you ever heard of a ‘henopause’? I laughed a couple of times. Highly recommend!

Now I just need to convince my wife…

It has been a dream of mine for many years to have my own flock of chickens. We just moved out of the city to a more spacious home, and I’ve been thinking about it a lot ever since. I can already see myself going to my backyard, to check in with my birds. I imagine it will be very relaxing! Not to mention the daily dose of fresh eggs of course. This book was very helpful in helping me to understand the basics of raising chickens. And it’s not as expensive as I thought it would be. I think I can build my own coop too, so that should help in keeping the costs low. Now I just have to convince my wife to build a coop in our backyard…honey, if you are seeing this: please?

Of all the books I have read on keeping backyard chickens, this is by far the best. Each chapter is well organized, and written to engage and educate those who are interested in establishing their own flock. The information has made a world of difference to me and my flock. Are you still thinking about raising chickens? This guide will give you the knowledge that you need to make informed decisions and understand what you are getting into....Take it from an experienced flock keeper. Preparation is critical if you want to have happy and healthy flock. If you go in knowing what to expect, you will enjoy the experience so much more!

If you are at all interested in raising chickens in your own backyard, this is a good place to start. It offers a lot of useful information and insight. As a newbie to raising chickens I felt it gave me a good introduction to what it really means to get started with it.

I liked this book. It gave clear information on how to raise chickens in your backyard. With some details about what to feed them, how to keep your chickens healthy, as well as different incubation methods. Quite a wonderful guide for those just starting out!

Perfect beginner guide.

Great book, covers all the basics of raising chickens at home. I thought keeping backyard chickens would be really complicated and expensive. But Rhea convinced me otherwise. I can already see myself walking into my backyard and just have a little chat with the ‘ladies’, haha. I am really excited to get started! Narrator also has a clear and warm voice. Easy to follow along. Good job!
