Love/Hate/Love

Duncan Prescott, Kallestra Spencer did a great job narrating Blake and Dakota. Dakota finally is forced to come home for her grandma's funeral, and she can't avoid her past any longer. Blake and Dakota had been best friends for their whole lives until they fell in love and decided to plan a future. When "betrayal" and perceived "betrayal" led to anger and hurt it takes longer to heal. This is a quick listen with lots of great moments with characters you love while falling in love with new characters. I found myself laughing and smiling throughout this one!

Super sweet, great small town vibes...

SHE says he cheated on her, breaking her heart forever & she took off. HE says there was no cheating, and she left for no reason. Eleven years later, they’re in the same tiny town and can’t seem to stay apart …

I enjoyed how they sorta butted heads, but then the miscomm wasn’t too dragged out. Enjoyed the ‘everyone knows everyone’ / small town vibes.

Overall:
A short, super sweet, small town, contemporary romance. The perfect companion for some mundane work, or exercise ;) .

Blake and Dakota

Great Listen. Narrators did a great job.
I enjoyed listening to these two story. High School Sweethearts, a misunderstanding which results into each blaming each other. Dakota staying away for a long time until the death of a loved one brings her back. Between the chemistry, the airing out the events that caused their breakup, the other characters and throw in an adorable child made this book interesting and entertaining.

This book was such a sweet second chance listen. 🎧 the chemistry between the characters through the narrators was palpable.

Fabulous Story & Listen! Riveting & Emotional!

It is great to be back in TC Matson’s Cameron Falls for another wonderful novel, a small town, second chance romance that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. Dakota Jayne and Blake Helms’ romance started before high school, and they became each other’s everything, but their relationship came to an abrupt ending after a falling out and a heartbreaking misunderstanding. Dakota left for college and did not return home for eleven years, only returning for her grandmother’s funeral. She had to face her past and her ex, Blake, who stayed in Cameron Falls and remained friendly with her family. Their icy reunion went as well as expected, but it was clear there were unresolved feeling going on behind the anger and the pain, also clear that they never got over one another. I was rooting for these two, especially after finding out the reason for their breakup. This well-written and wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, some heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions, and a fabulous second chance romance. TC Matson, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Duncan Prescott and Kallestra Spencer did a fantastic of bringing these characters to life, and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying. I loved how they took each role and owned it, sounding believable and just as I imagine the characters to sound. Both nailed it in the two lead roles, embodying their character’s personality completely. They conveyed all the characters’ emotions in their performance, a captivating performance that rivets you to the story. Prescott and Spencer are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

Heartfelt

This is the second book I've read/listened to written by TC Matson. I went back and read my review for the first book in this series and laughed. It could applyto this book as well! The author knows how to bring out all the emotions... sadness, frustration, happiness, disbelief, devastation, and elation. I went through them all. I absolutely love books that bring out physical emotions. This author has talent. I wasn't ready for the story to end.

Duncan Prescott and Kallestra Spencer were perfection. Absolutely loved their voices and their performanceswere spot on. This audiobook rolled like a movie in my head.

Sweet 2nd Chance Romance!

Very sweet second chance romance between Dakota and Blake.  In high school, there was a misunderstanding and Dakota left for college and never came back to visit her parents because she didn’t want to see Blake again.  Dakota’s grandma passes away and she has to make the trip back home.  What happens when she comes back was a bit frustrating for them but also sweet.  I enjoyed their romance and the secondary characters in the book.  I really enjoyed the narrators of the story, who made the audiobook great to listen to!
