Publisher's summary

A hot and hilarious new standalone from New York Times best seller Kendall Ryan

We met in a trapped elevator. Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie. I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right?

At 35, my life hadn't taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting - I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen.

After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner - he also insisted on something else - that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn't want kids, I'd be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way.

But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for.

This full-length standalone contains a hot, swoon-worthy hero, lots of playful banter and some hot baby-making! Enjoy.

A good read with nice even storyline

This book was different. Stay with it. I almost dropped it about 1/4th the way thru because our "heroine" was behaving like a total jerk. But, it gets better once she quits being so self absorbed and starts to see him differently. Not one of KB's best but it is by KB so I will take it! :) I like her writing and her snappy dialogue.

Quick and Fun Romance

STORY OVERVIEW AND REVIEW

Jenna and Emmett meet inside an elevator on her way to the sperm bank. They get stuck inside, and instead of getting to know each other or maybe make small talk, they end up discussing Jenna's plans of putting a bun in her oven, and Emmett helping her put said bun.

Jenna would have outright said no, but Emmett can be pretty convincing when he wants something. It also helps that he's incredibly good-looking. He also sounds smart. Surely his genes would be a great addition for her baby. And his proposed way of getting her knocked up is a great enticement, too. He doesn't want a family but wants the way of making one, so it's a win-win for them.

They agree on the terms and off they go to babytown. Emmett is nothing if not determined. He'll do his best to get her knocked up, and he'll do his best to make sure she enjoys the process, too.

But like most baby-making romances, things aren't as easy as they first planned it. When feelings are involved and people are attached, letting go and moving on is becoming the least favorable choice.

I admire Jenna's independence and her stand on motherhood. Having a mother who raised her on her own showed her she can be a good mother without a man, and she's confident she can do it. She goes after what she wants, and it's not just about the baby. She's passionate about her business and worked hard to achieve her dream.

Emmett is the typical rich playboy, but there's something so charming and endearing about the man that I can't help but love him. I love that this all started out as lust for this perpetual bachelor, but then he started falling for Jenna and loving the idea of starting a family with her.

I have to admit there were times Jenna frustrated me. Emmett was ready to go all in, but she refused to see it.

Overall, I still enjoyed it. The banter was great, the sexual tension wonderfully written, and the pace just right.

WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT THE AUDIOBOOK?

First of all, Sebastian York. Need I say more? This man could read a shopping receipt and I'd still enjoy it. He emulated Emmett's personality perfectly; there was the playboy attitude, that slight cockiness, and the confidence that's very Emmett. He also has great comedic timing.

Same goes for Virginia Rose. This is the first audiobook of hers I've heard, and I really like her. I'm pretty choosy with female audiobooks, but Ms. Rose sounds great. Lively and full of personality like Jenna. There's nothing robotic about her voice, and I can hear the characters' feelings in her narration.

The pacing of the narration was great, and there wasn't a time that I got bored. I loved listening to both narrators, so kudos to them!

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THIS AUDIOBOOK TO A FRIEND? IF SO, WHY?

The narrators made it an enjoyable listen, and their performance made the story even more entertaining. If you're looking for a quick and fun romance between two lovable characters, you'll enjoy Baby Daddy. Oh, and if you're a fan of the baby-making trope, obviously this one is for you.

Romantic and Funny!

This quirky, romantic, re-imagining of You've Got Mail, is so sweet, sexy, and swoony. Jenna and Emmett have an accidental meeting in an elevator that sets their actions in motion. Jenna wants to be a mother and Emmett wants to help. They are both committed to their careers and aren't looking for a relationship, so it seems perfect. Of course the more time they spend together the more they begin to care for each other, altering their plan. I really love both Jenna and Emmett and the way they kept inventing ways to spend more time together. Their banter was fun and they had great chemistry. The story did seem to drag a bit in the middle but I liked how they handled the plot twist and the ending was delightful.
I loved Sebastian York, and Virginia Rose's narration. Their comedic timing was spot on and they effortlessly brought this story to life.
I really enjoyed this quick, sweet, sexy and swoony romance!

My Thoughts on Baby Daddy

This was a pretty good Kendall Ryan story. I liked the plot. I enjoyed the relationship build between the main characters. I thought a certain twist in the story wasn't really necessary and I could have enjoyed the story just as much if not more without it, but overall it was a good read. I am still absolutely a Kendall Ryan fan and will be reading more of her past and future books.

The narration for this story was fantastic. Both of them just enhanced the reading experience for me as I listened and read along with this story. I think they were both well cast and a real pleasure to listen to.

Well rounded

This was a very good read. It was just sexy enough to keep you on the edge of your seat while also expressing a lot of realism which if it’s just too perfect really takes me out of the story. I enjoyed listening to this quick read and look forward to reading more of her books.
